I'm the deferred admit from last year that posted on the front page. This thread is really dead, isn't it? I take it that no one's heard anything thus far?
Admit calls from Asha in October are always welcome

Combo of 250 writer's block and the fact that it seems that nobody with my stats has gotten into Y in the last 6 cycles... But at the same time I almost need to know if there is some possible way that I can sneak onto the waitlist and claw my way in. So it's up in the air at this point
I wish I could retweet this.

I'm not sure what I can say to make you feel better other than:

Anyone else sitting around with a complete application but can't seem to submit? My commitment issues are showing.

No, I wish. Waiting for LOR to be uploaded. That darn snail mail.

Totally feel you - waiting for LORs is the worst. Brings out my control issues. Man, this process is fun.

Well, is there any chance at all that, ten years down the line, you'll regret not sending in an app? (Ignoring the fact that I'm OPing this thread, I can't understand why someone would ever decide not to submit if there's even a tiny, tiny chance that you could get in! :D)

I like this line of thinking - thanks! I definitely need to submit for exactly that reason. Regret's no joke. I guess I'm worried that I'll submit and immediately think of a better 250 concept or something. Gonna have to let it go.

Also, I chose to do my post-college activities as a descriptive summary and it's almost a page long, double-spaced. I've been out of UG for 5+ years, but it looks like I squeezed in another essay, which doesn't seem right. Anyone else in a similar position? Should I whack this down to size?
Mine was a page long and I'm almost 4 years out. That seemed right to me.

You're very welcome! Ah, I completely understand your fear about submitting a less-than-best application. I submitted because I luckily did get to the point where I was fairly certain I wouldn't be able to think of anything better, but I'm not sure how to balance the trade-offs of submitting early and submitting your "best." I had to play that game with my LORs, and it wasn't fun.

Any idea whether Asha has started to read applications? I remember in previous years she has tweeted in early November saying she was starting, but nothing yet. No new 203 posts in a long long time either.

I'm at/just above both 25th percentiles, and had no intentions of applying, but that big ol' envelope, though...
Wait, that's awesome that they do this kind of recruiting. And welcome to TLS. Has the envelope successfully swayed you?

I also received this! I'm not LGBT though, so I'm not sure why I received this, but it was pretty lol when my mom called me after opening the letter (my law school mail is delivered to her) and thought this was how I would be coming out to her.
