You're welcome. Probably best to focus any freak-out energy on things you can still control IYKWIM. That being said, I literally just googled "Can adcomms see how often you go on status checker".lemondrop wrote:KissMyAxe wrote: And to the other person, yeah, 250 is just the maximum length. I usually wouldn't go below like 150 or something, but I expect very few people use exactly 250 words (mine was like 239).Thank you both!! definitely helped put my mind at ease. I think I'm just starting to freak out more about every little thing the further into the cycle we getsanibella wrote: No, that's the limit.

Ha, I wish I had all the weight off my shoulders! For me, getting the JS2 is getting my hopes up about Yale, even though I know it's still such a crapshoot! Will try to just not think about it.KissMyAxe wrote:No problem Brooklyn. I remember how stressful it was so I feel for you guys. Though weirdly enough, after my JS2, it felt like all the weight was off my shoulders and I basically stopped worrying about any of my other decisions.

Re: Yale c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I wanted to echo what Axe said here. The key is to find something that is well written and means something to you. I've met lots of people here who submitted portions of previous papers. Some people go a completely different route and write something new that's very personal. In the end its all about painting a more complete picture of who you are as an applicant. The possibilities are literally endless for how you can do with this, but I wouldn't overthink it. Just be you and write what you're passionate about. If that means quoting an awesome portion from a paper that demonstrates your ability as a writer, then that is just fine! If it means talking about a movie you're passionate about, or talking about something completely random then that works just as well.chayatshuva wrote:This might be literally THE dumbest question of all time. But I feel very compelled to ask it and because I just want to know ahead of time if I did something stupid or if it's okay and I shouldn't panic.
So for my Yale 250, I submitted part of a paper I had written. It is pretty scientific and dry.. not something I composed for Yale specifically. Is that okay? Or have I already totally ruined my chances at admissions?
In any case, good luck all. I hope you all hear good news soon.

I wonder if Asha has even started calling yet. Silence here and on LSN. I can imagine her tweeting that then going out to lunch or to see a movie

Ohmygod... I didn't even consider that! But would it actually be that unusual if the first batch didn't include anyone on TLS or LSN?brooklynboy wrote:I wonder if Asha has even started calling yet. Silence here and on LSN. I can imagine her tweeting that then going out to lunch or to see a movie
