Whoever is answering the phone over at Yale's admissions office is very rude.

I was calling to ask a question about the best way to get them to consider a February re-take since the e-mail date is after their deadline.jtg21 wrote:What happened?Li'l Sebastian wrote:Whoever is answering the phone over at Yale's admissions office is very rude.
Anyways the guy was very brusque, and answered in one word sentences and just sounded like I was annoying him by calling. And then I told him thank you very much and have a nice day, and he just hung up without so much as a "you too" or even a "bye"

Fun fact: I've now seen Parks and Rec twice since the October LSAT.

Yup. When I first decided to go to law school, my only goal was to get into the local school (T30) with a scholarship. I want to do PI, so it's not like I need Biglaw opportunities, you know? I feel like I made a huge mistake looking at better schools, because now I'm not stoked at all about that local school , but I also feel like (full, sticker) debt at the T14s I'm admitted to is too much. Instead of feeling proud of my acceptances, I feel like the moron that couldn't get 2 points higher on the LSAT and get money from schools I didn't even know I was interested in until after I took the damned test.CJRpnw wrote:I feel you on this. I have incredible offers waiting at four different T20-T50 schools, yet all my heart wants is Michigan and its stupid beautiful law school.Toodle-loo wrote:My heart pulls me to Michigan, but my wallet pulls me strongly away.
I'll probably end up taking a near-full scholarship at William&Mary, Fordham, or UNC Chapel Hill.
Which I know is not a bad outcome at all, it's just a little less exciting.
(Yes, I probably could improve my score with a retake and no, it's not an option for me - my s/o has already given me more flexibility than he had to in following me in my grad school journey, and asking him to just wait it out another year isn't on the table.)

Any Suits fans on this website? As an aspiring lawyer it's kind of a guilty pleasure, but damnit if I don't love the writing on that show sometimes.
Anyways, the reason that I mention it is that now that I've had my HLS interview with JS, I've started wondering what her opinion is of her counterpart on the show. I think it would be a funny conversation if someone was brave enough to ask her

Yeah I still keep up with Suits; I remember really liking it in the first season or two... although the current season is pretty entertaining so far

Right?! This board is a bit of a blessing and a curse sometimes. I'm doing PI too, and 6 months ago, I would have been overjoyed by a full ride to my local T3 -- now I'm fussing over whether Duke gives me an arbitrary yes or not.Toodle-loo wrote:Yup. Just finished booking my flight for Michigan's preview day, and I'm already super excited and then after I go see if the transaction went through for the flight, I notice my tax return came in! I'm rich!

Re: c/o 2019 Applicant Compendium (2015 - 2016)
So, I've heard back from every school I've applied to except for Stanford and Harvard, but I've only received a merit offer from Michigan. I want to use offers to help me narrow down the list of schools I'm seriously considering and to help me decide where to visit, but I have no idea when to expect those offers to come. I submitted all of my apps in October and received most of my acceptances in December.
Anyone else experiencing the same dilemma? Any thoughts on roughly when I can expect to hear from schools like Cal (matching offer submitted already), NYU, Chicago, or UPenn?
