I stumbled across it while I was looking for more information about ASD since I haven't received an e-mail or anything since I sent in my RSVP. Get started on your homework for Friday!

Just wait listed. Really surprised given that Vanderbilt gave me 30k/year and I just got into UT-Austin this morning, but o well. Shit happens. Good luck to everyone else!

Quick turnaround, submit/complete 3/12, in review 3/14, decision 4/1. Not admitted. Would have been nice, but judging from the comments about tuition and other issues, maybe it was a good thing?
Anyway good luck to everyone!

Just an FYI for those of us still waiting..... my file just went "in review" about an hour ago. I'm below 25th for LSAT and at 25th for GPA.

Same.. Mine has been "ready to review" since March 12, and changed this morning. I'm assuming this is indicative of bad news?

FWIW, my app went 3/17 received, 4/1 WL. I'm on the east coast, so I'm not too broken up about it; that's a long move and I've got a lot of other irons in the fire. In fact, I'm sorta tickled to even make the WL. I look forward to seeing what happens though. If you want to know my stats, they're in my profile.

Did anyone go to Admitted Students' day? Curious to hear how it went?

I enjoyed it, though we found out that the school hasn't actually received that big donation $$$ yet (and might not before we enroll), hence the low schollies.

Small purple UW duffle bag, clear plastic water bottle, Theo chocolate bar, and a black leather zip folder with legal pad and pen.SparkyZZZ wrote:Ooh, I am curious now, what were the gifts?

Just chiming in. ASD visit was awesome. I felt like I got a sense of the school culture and the mock class was the best I've seen among several admitted students events. UW stresses the public interest focus and spoke on how to incorporate that into even traditionally non-PI legal practice. The one-on-one career coaching and mentor networking seems strong. Overall I got a very good vibe from the school, the surrounding area of campus (gorgeous) and the city in general. Any one else have similar thoughts?

Yeah I loved it too, but the school's finances don't seem great. The LRAP is capped at 15k, scholarships are tiny, it seemed like there are only a few school sponsored summer interest grants and the rest you have to apply for outside funding. Maybe the huge donation will change things, but I don't think it will have much impact on the class of 2017. I'm not in state so I don't think I can justify attending with the cost. I LOVE Seattle though!

Agreed completely. I was impressed by the ASD, but I will be withdrawing this week.pixy1900 wrote:Yeah I loved it too, but the school's finances don't seem great. I also loved it - the school culture seemed great and the amount of people I met committed to public interest was impressive. It was the best ASD I've attended so far. Unfortunately, with other schools offering a lot more financial aid, I'm not sure I can justify attending without a significant bump in scholarship.pcthenls wrote:Just chiming in. Just got an invite to an admitted students reception that was clearly addressed to me and began with "As an admitted student...".
I was rejected back in December. Fun times...

I came just to see if I was the only one. This is not the first school to do this to me this year, I believe it is actually the third. The next school who does it is getting a response about how I am glad they reconsidered and I will be there for whatever the event is. I am up for that awkward conversation.fluffle277 wrote:I called them, they "sent it to the wrong list"... nice....

If I didn't live in North Carolina, I would be down for crashing the party with a bunch of jilted TLSers! I'm surprised they haven't sent out any sort of correction.klondike5 wrote:I came just to see if I was the only one. That's exactly what I was thinking but with a wife instead of dad. Make sure to mention that you already put down on an apartment too.deegol wrote:Dear UW,givemescholly wrote:If I didn't live in North Carolina, I would be down for crashing the party with a bunch of jilted TLSers! Haha this happened to me today too. For their admitted students event.
I shot them an email requesting them to remove me off of their admitted student listserv.
However, I was thinking just the same as the previous posts saying that I am excited to be reconsidered . Hahaha.
I was thinking they overlooked my email since I went to UW for undergrad and still use my uw email, but I guess thats not the case since a few people on here got the same email.
Two people from admissions emailed me back right away to sincerely apologize and that my decision was final, LOL.
