Carbon you hear this?!domino wrote:Went to Stanford today because visiting a friend in the area. Holy shit the campus is ridiculous. When people said "it's beautiful," I didn't get it--I was just like, "Okay, so the buildings are pretty and the weather is nice." But there's way more. There's this long entrance road surrounded by greenery where graceful ibis-like birds are just stalking around, fountains all over the place. And the buildings are not just pretty but AWESOME.
I also liked the more spread out layout more than I expected. The campus really feels like a small city, very open but areas with different functions are clearly differentiated.
I thought I wanted to stay near home, but being here for the past few days has made me think that it might be exciting to go somewhere new, and it turns out there are plenty of people here that I know, too. Hm. Might try to un-withdraw my app.

Complete early October and nada. I guess I should stop holding off on putting down a deposit elsewhere. This is a little crazy.

DLS today. Complete 12/4.
This was my long, far-fetched dream. Doubting I'm getting a WL since it's too early.

I knew it was coming, but I'm still sitting here just staring at the screen. Hurts so bad.
I don't know whether I should sit out (again) and reapply and retake or what. My options are good but I feel I'm under-performing both acceptance-wise and $-wise.

Awww, I'm sorry! Did you just find out? And I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I might reapply if I don't get into Stanford which is likely. You're leaning towards Berkeley, right?twinkletoes16 wrote:ssanonymous wrote:NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!twinkletoes16 wrote:DLS today. Complete 12/4.

Your LSAT score is already super high, so are you hoping to get some WE in the next year?twinkletoes16 wrote: Yes, was traveling all day and just got home and checked. Leaning to Berk if I get $.

Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
I know we've jumped on this topic before, but cant see how a retake or waiting would have significant benefit here; stanford will DLS us for our GPAs as non-URMs no matter what. Blah. Sorry to hear though: mine should be here soon.twinkletoes16 wrote:ssanonymous wrote:NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!twinkletoes16 wrote:DLS today. Complete 12/4.

Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
when does sls start adding people to the wl? I'm already later in the process than I should be (admissions misfiled my statement from ug dean, which pushed back what should've been a mid-dec complete to a late jan complete), but I'm just curious as to what to expect when I finally see movement.

Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
Sorry twinkle.
There seems to be a handful of acceptances that go out by April 11th and then it's over. Full on bloodbath with WL and rejects everywhere. Looked through the last 2 years on lsn and there are 2-3 reported wl accepts a year, some as late as August.
Plus Stanford just cancelled their game theory class on coursera.
Oh and my status checker won't work, windows 98 style.
I'm bout ready to begin my irrational hate of Stanford.

So at this point, we have about two weeks to get in before we should abandon all hope? Sigh. I think I'm just going to start repeating to myself, "I hate mission architecture," to make the time go by.sinfiery wrote:There seems to be a handful of acceptances that go out by April 11th and then it's over. I hope you get in, because your Yale withdraw would help like thirty different applicants as everyone moves up one school.carboncopyx wrote:So at this point, we have about two weeks to get in before we should abandon all hope?
