LSAT Conversions

Post by Eggs » Tue Jan 29, 2019 3:08 am

Does anyone have reliable source for a current conversion chart? I’ve seen them all over the place. For example, I’ve seen an 80 (raw score) anywhere from a 161 to a 166 on 5 different charts. I would like an idea of what current scores are so I have a better idea of what to expect.

They aren’t conversions, they are curves for each individual administration. A certain raw score can vary in LSAT from test to test pretty widely, so all you can/should do is take each PT within the context of the curve for that test. You can’t extrapolate that to any future tests beyond a rough approximation (I.e. 170 will be ~97th percentile across all administrations, which you can see what raw score lands you that score in any given test).

This is where understanding the nature of the LSAT curve is important.
