I took over 200 fully timed 5 section practice tests over a year period.

Re: Craziest worth ethic LSAT
my friend did 5 months of 40-55 hours a week. Started at a 157 and ended up with a 173.
She would wake up, work out, and then head to the library. Essentially she treated it like a full-time job.

As I've posted elsewhere, it's a job with a potential six-figure payoff, so why the hell not make an effort?Barack O'Drama wrote:my friend did 5 months of 40-55 hours a week. Started at a 157 and ended up with a 173.

The work ethic is no doubt impressive but it strikes me as excessive or for the very least burdensome to the end goal of achieving a high LSAT.
I studied for 6 months, averaging 25 hour weeks and PT'ed at 177, 79, 75, 180, a month prior to the February exam.

Re: Craziest worth ethic LSAT
If you think that most LSAT test takers could study for 6 months at a pace of roughly 25 hours per week and be practice testing 177+ consistently towards the end of that 6 months then you are crazy.marryJLP92 wrote:The work ethic is no doubt impressive but it strikes me as excessive or for the very least burdensome to the end goal of achieving a high LSAT.

I would guess around 200 hours is optimal for most people, and then diminishing returns kick in big time. Most people probably can't reach 175+ no matter how long they study...

I (sort of) agree with this. I'm not sure about the 200 hours being optimal but I'd guess you're not too far off in saying that after ~200 hours the law of diminishing returns kicks in big.jgloster wrote:I would guess around 200 hours is optimal for most people, and then diminishing returns kick in big time.
