Re: -11 Curve, Grey Day September 2017 Waiter's Thread
I feel you, for me it was the first LR section though. 60% of my incorrects were from there and I've never gotten that many wrong in a section ever. Just need to get back at it I guess.Gluteus wrote:Got my score back. Will probably retake even though it's above the average at most of my goal schools (Canadian)
I bombed the second real LR section. I've never gotten even close to that low on a LR section since my diagnostic. And that's with a sample size of 30+ timed sections. I have no one to blame but myself, I didn't train enough for mental stamina and my mind was going blank during that section. I was literally reading the stimulus and not having the information store into my short term memory for analysis. Half of my wrong answers came from the second LR section
Missed one on LG which shocked me
RC was slightly below average for me, but I still did well.

174!
LR -2, -2
LG -0
RC -3
Did worse than average on LRs, and better on RC. Mostly satisfied. Would have been great if i could just score 1 or 2 points higher, which would make me more confident for a T6 or even a T3...

172 -- not as high as I would have liked, but definitely satisfied. Not putting myself through this nightmare ever again.

Haha we are almost twins. I mis-bubbled an LR too. and had -1 on LG and -2 on every other section.Pyrex wrote:174!
LR -1
LG -1 -> annoying, given ease of games
LR -2 (one a mis-bubble?)
RC -3 (only missed one judges question; other two were "main point of passage questions" )

Got a 163 with doing 5%(the part before the 2007 preptest) of the 7sage CC and taking the 2007 prep test. -12 on LG. I was supposed to study over the summer(that didn't happen at all), and so resigned myself to applying next cycle and taking the June test. Kicking myself for not even looking at LG because I probably could have gotten the score I need for the school where I'd like to end up. I'm psyched that I actually scored pretty decently, but it almost hurts more than a bad score.

Okay so I fatally miss-bubbled Logic Games...like a lot
What are the implications of a December retake and a January application? I'm so sad.

Got it a few hours ago but haven't gotten a chance to post. 168. Not super excited but not upset. Won't retake. Michigan here I come!

For science:
LR -6
LR -0
LG -3
RC -11
I was PTing around 168; with my normal -0 on RC I would have a 172.
Going to sacrifice some cows and get back to PTing for December. Any words of encouragement you want to throw my way are much appreciated. Bit of a bruised ego.

If my score went down, do I haveeee to put it on my applications under the standardized test section?
I feel like I made a dumb move by retaking and now I'm terrified I screwed myself over

For all those not excited about their scores, you're not the only one! PTing 169-175 (diagnostic was a 164) and got a 160 today. Perfect score on LG, expected score on RC, and misbubbled/totally blew the LR sections, which I've never gone more than minus 3 or 4 on any PT. Now trying to decide whether to retake in December or wait for the next cycle.

I feel for you. I was struggling with this too. It'd be disappointing to not go straight into law when I am 100% sure it is what I want to do. But I figure, retake, apply, and if I'm not satisfied with my cycle I can paralegal for a year and reapply for CO 2022. While a lot of TLSers would say postpone, you have to take the TLS sample into account. I think with your PT average (which is a good 1-7 points higher than my mean) you have a really solid chance for a good cycle this year.helpmepleassseee wrote:For all those not excited about their scores, you're not the only one! Friendly reminder to all that these scores, even if they’re not exactly what you wanted, are great.
TLS can put you in a mindset that what matters is whether you go to Harvard or Columbia, or Gtown with $$$ or Cal, whether you get a 170 or a 169.
It’s not what’s really important.
What’s really important is whether you use the skills wherever you learn them to do good things for the world and help people. I’d rather know a 160 who helps people that need it than a 180 who shills for Exxon their entire life.
Great job everyone! And if you’re retaking, best of luck!
