Re: The Official December 2017 Study Group
So Im thinking about switching up my study schedule and Id like to hear what you guys think.
Currently Im taking 3 PTs a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), BRing the entire test which takes about 7 hours per test (3 hours on the day I take the test, then 4 hours the next morning), then drilling on Tuesday and Thursday for about 3 hours each day after I finish my BR.
Ive made small improvements with this schedule, but Im starting to think that Im not spending near enough time drilling so Im considering trying something new. Id still take 3 PTs a week, but instead of spending 7 hours per test BRing, Id only BR the the questions I got wrong which would free up enough time to drill all day on Tuesday/Thursday. This would increase my hours spent drilling per week from 6 hours to 14. What do you guys think? Is this a good move, or would not BRing every question have a detrimental effect in the long run.

Just when I thought “stop being gloomy, get motivated and study,” just when I was feeling confident as fuck, I walked into the law school library that I go to to study after work and spilled a full medium sized cup of coffee on a table in the middle of the room. I’m so lucky it didn’t reach the girls stuff across from me or that she wasn’t presently there when it happened. I didn’t get to take a single sip. So embarrassing.

I'm going to adopt something like this pattern. I really think I need to increase my endurance. I always crush the first three/four sections. Then that fifth section I just just perform terribly.MercW07 wrote:So Im thinking about switching up my study schedule and Id like to hear what you guys think.

Re: The Official December 2017 Study Group
This counters the purpose of the BR because you know which ones you got wrong. There are various forms of BR. You're doing the most exhaustive one which is redoing the whole test. You could just mark the ones you thought were hard or weren't 100% on and only do those and review any ones you got wrong but didn't mark as ones you were skeptical about to save time. If I'm in a rush, I review the last 10 of each LR section and anything I circle to come back to in all of the sections.MercW07 wrote:So Im thinking about switching up my study schedule and Id like to hear what you guys think.

I think I'm going to retake December to score higher for scholarships. Going to call all my law schools tomorrow and see if they hold applications if signed up for a future LSAT

I'm posting on here for no other reason than the fact that I'm bored, too tired to drill reading comp, and just chilllin out. Currently watching Bojack horseman and not sure if I dig it yet. Anyone find it took multiple episodes to get into? I found I didn't like Archer until I got to know the characters more, so maybe it's the same with BH.

~30 pages in the Fox LR
Fool proof two games from the past 11 tests
I'll start Manhattan RC when that gets here tomorrow
In three-ish weeks I'll just be drilling full length sections and maybe one PT per week. I did a lot of PTs leading up to September and endurance isn't really an issue for me.

I'm drilling a section a day from test below 60. Full PT simulation Saturday at same time of day, food, etc. BRing Sunday. It's hard for me to do weekday PTs because I test under accommodations so a 5.5 hour block after working an 9 hour day is impossible. I tried once and score like a 158 because I was so dead by the final two sections. I'm hesitant to do a 4 section one and burn good PTs.littlewing67 wrote:Seems like most of us are 22-25 cool

Will also be doing some Cambridge question type drilling.
Also, I'm doing an observed section a week with my tutor for each section type of the next 3 weeks to identify any issues I may have with section approach since we already know my question types to focus on.

Re: The Official December 2017 Study Group
I am not going to go through any new material.. I think for me drilling and PTs is the biggest component of this retake.
I am starting today to do LR type drilling NA and WKN and doing the corresponding chapters in the MH LR book/my notes and then prob do a gen read through. THen from there its just really drilling sections and PTs. Going to take my first PT back this Sat.
I am going to be much more disciplined when it comes to my sleep schedule and doing those Sat PTs this time around. I think that really hampered my performance in Sept.

Idk. On my Sept Ticket it said be there no later than 8:30 and the exam started around 9ish. Presumably, Dec is the same.MercW07 wrote:Yep its 8:30. You have to be there by 8 right?Rupert Pupkin wrote:What time of day is the Dec test usually? is it 8:30 like Sept

Re: The Official December 2017 Study Group
When you're drilling LR, do you usually drill sections or by question type? I'm doing mostly by type right now but think I should probably get back into doing full sections for timing and stuff.littlewing67 wrote:Noiceeee I'm going to start Manhattan LR soon and ordered the fox book. Reviewing PT 82 today and doing some sections.
I think I might want to focus on drills more than PTs, but I like doing PTs too for endurance/timing.
I need to cut my LR down to make up for RC. Somehow I go like -8 test day but when I do LR sections I usually go like -4 all together.

Re: The Official December 2017 Study Group
LR was the majority of my point loss so that’s where I’m focusing right now. I got the Manhattan LR book plus the Fox book. I do the chapter in Manhattan and then do the chapter in fox. I think they complement each other pretty well. I want to be done by end of next week though so I can do LR sections. Also going to be taking PTs starting a week from Saturday
