I'm checking in because you made me! But I will be taking December if I don't get off the wait list I am on and will know by Aug 15th. I am planning on taking though!! LR is my nemesis. I missed over 1/2 of the points I missed on those sections on the June test. I took PT 61 today, Section 4 LR and had -8 and really do not know what I am doing wrong/not understanding, so that is my most pertinent task!! Any tips are appreciated!

Not taking in December but I'm here for the shitposting. June thread got to 168 pages and I scored a 168. Coincidence? Absolutely not.

I haven't done PT 61 but I'm assuming you're putting these through a question type tracker like 7sage?

Are you doing a full 5 section PT and this was literally section 4 or was it a different section with adding an experimental. Where were the questions like all over the place, clustered in middle, end, etc? All of this could give insight. If it was actually section 5 because you added an extra one for stamina training and all the questions missed were middle to end then it's probably a stamina thing. I know that was my issue from June's test after doing my BR. The last half of the section I was dying and made almost all of my mistakes there because my head was killing me so I know I need more stamina and maybe a little extra advil and a 5 hour energy shot at break to keep my mental focus.

All shitpoasting is welcome. So annoyed at June thread being 168 and then like 10 lurkers came out in the waiter's thread during Gray Watch. They definitely would have gotten us to 180 if they had participated. Note the bold message in OP. ;-)

Hi there.

Dumb, naive question alert:

If scores are released January 4 2018, won't that make our apps late?

That is, if we wait until we get our scores to apply?

Oh, and is anyone else basically starting from zero study-wise? Orrrr am I there only one? My plans were to take September, but let's just say life happened. Yay.

Honestly it depends on the person, their application/goal schools/etc. For someone who's above median or 75th's it's probably less of an issue. If you're a splitter, like me, than it could make things more difficult if you're not aiming to get past the 75th% of the schools you're applying to. At that point, especially if it's the 1st time you're taking the test, you might be better off delaying a cycle.

Hey, thanks. Sigh. I feel like if I miss this cycle I suck at life. I already delayed last year. If I apply next year I'll be enrolling at age 27! Is that too old. I'm going to really shoot for Dec and if I blow it I blow it. I'd then take June 2018 I guess ...

Not too old. I'm 34 and am going for PT school. I'll be 40ish when I graduate. There were others in the December taker group that were over 40 too. Never too old for school itself. Now if it's a smart thing to do based on finances and stuff is another question. Graduating at 50 with 300k of debt is different than graduating at 50 and either being on full scholarship or being able to pay it all as you attended.

Ok so I need some advice from you guys. Ive had the LSAT Trainer in my Amazon cart for about a week now, and I just cant pull the trigger on it. Ive been working through the 7Sage Ultimate+ course for about 2.5 months now and I feel as though Ive improved massively, but Ive just heard so many good things about the Trainer... In addition to my 7Sage course, I also have all 3 PS Bibles that I have yet to really go through. Basically Im wondering if there is any new information in the Trainer that can not be found on 7Sage or in the Bibles, or would I, in reality, just be spending $50+ for a book full of information that I already have access to. PLZ HELP!

So, I have the PS Bibles and only got through about 1/2 of them before the prep class I also signed up for started when I was preparing for the June test. I ended up using a lot of my prep course's methods, I've heard mixed reviews on LR and RC, their RC method didn't help me as much. I've heard they're really good for just games and then it depends on the person if RC and LR work for them. I'm just starting the trainer, only at chapter 4, and I'll actually probably get the 7sage basic to access their LR and RC methodologies.
See some of the feedback in http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... #p10071060

My opinion, it's never bad to have access to more to see if there's a different way to do things that may click better/faster for you. I think both JY and Mike have said they think their systems complement each other. A member of the June study group said he recommends both. But put it this way, if you have the time to do both, which you should with the test being like 5 months away, is saving $50 really going to kill you for the peace of mind knowing that you used all of the major resources that people trying to get into a T14 used? If you don't mark it up you can always resell it and recover some of the money or maybe even find it cheaper used or via kindle if you can handle that. I'm old school and need my text books to be physical.

.
Yep, that was pretty much just the explanation I needed to buy the book. I was a bit worried there would be conflicting ideas between 7Sage and the Trainer, thus leading to confusion, but it does seem like most agree that they compliment each other quite well.

I'm sure there might be some conflict but it's all about approaching it on the fact that each is system they put together based on their abilities, insights, and it may not work for everyone. One example is for LR is the PS Bible actively discourages reading the stem before the stimulus saying it can cause confusion. My prep course said do it the other way and, from what I've heard, the trainer say read stem first. I was conflicted because I had started with the PS way but gave it a shot because I also noted I usually ended up reading the stimulus 2x, I have shitty short term memory, when doing the PS method which wasted time. The switch worked better for me and I ended up being able to not read the stim 2x for most questions unless I needed to go back and confirm something after eliminating all the answer choices I could have from my first pass.

Hey guys, the June retakers group is putting together study partners, and I wanted to invite any of you all to join if you are interested. We're looking to match people based on strengths and weaknesses (ideally, for example, if you are weaker in LG but strong in RC, we would try to match you with a strong LG but weak RC study partner). Especially if December will not be your first take, I really encourage you to join. Survey is here: https://[link redacted]/forms/0tFPigtJPAKgmGJ43
