Re: The Official September 2017 Study Group
Just printed out my ticket.
Tomorrow is my last PT, then Thursday I will review some LR questions that I gathered from all previously done PT's that have given me a lot of trouble in the past, then Saturday is game day.
Let's fucking do this, y'all.
What is everyone's week looking like in terms of this test?

I'm drilling two more LR sections and one RC today. I'll take 76 tomorrow, but am still deciding on whether to squeeze 80 in or not.Mikey wrote:Just printed out my ticket.

Hoping for no silly LG mistakes Saturday!

Doing some random LG sections throughout the week as time permits after work. Have been consistently in the high 170s with recent PTs and stupid LG mistakes are keeping me from a 180 on a few. Going to take 81 on Thursday and if it's a nightmare I'll find another PT to get my confidence upMikey wrote:Just printed out my ticket.

reviewing 79 tonight, taking the day off work tomorrow and taking 77 or 78. reviewing that tues/wed. Thursday I will do some minor drilling. Friday I have a half day - driving to my alma mater because they have the test in a brand new facility with huge 2 person lab desks (thank god) and no lsat, just relaxing. Saturday morning probably waking up around 6 and showering, eating some shitty hotel eggs (bold strategy cotton, let's see if it plays off), fruit, toast, etc. and then doing some drilling right before check in. I'm thinking a tough in/out game since I hate them, 10-15 LR questions focused on NA/SA/Str/Weak/Flaw, and then a difficult RC passage. Afterwards I think I'm going home and drinking some nice Japanese rum - neat (aka straight from the bottle) until I pass out.Mikey wrote:Just printed out my ticket.

If the eggs are a bad move at least I have an excuse as to why I did poorly.
*Wow you studied the last 8 months and are taking it AGAIN?*
"Sorry, I was shitting my brains out because of the powdered eggs the hotel served me and I missed an entire section"
I just printed my ticket as well and I'm freaking the fuck out, if we're being real.

Reviewing the RC and LG sections from PTs 70-80 over the next few days and I'm going to squeeze in PT 81 on Wednesday.
Serious question: Does anyone have tips for falling asleep? I don't want the lack of a good night's rest to be my downfall, again.

2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar + 1 tablespoon of honey mix in hot water. I call it my "sleepy tea". Some famous professor concocted it. Works like NyQuil without the groggy morning. Give it a shot before Friday night to see if it works for you.Par0lEvid3nce wrote:

Re: The Official September 2017 Study Group
Did a bunch of prep this weekend:
PT79: 165 (the virus game wasn't bad but I didn't leave myself enough time to deal with it, so I -4'd the section). Terrible.
PT80: 177 (-0 LG, RC, -1 LR1 and -3 LR2--shoulda been -2). Had at least 3 minutes left at the end of every section. Great.
I don't understand this test. Only thing different was that I had a lot of tea before PT80 and ate a slightly bigger breakfast.

Same boat with PT81. I'll probably end up taking it because I'm actually having fun, but if I score low I'm gonna feel terrible on Saturday.HesusChrist wrote:Trying to decide if I should take PT 80 or 81 before Sat and risk a low, confidence destroying score, or do a couple retakes from the 70's to maintain confidence. Thoughts?

Re: The Official September 2017 Study Group
I hit above my average on my PT this past Friday, one of my top 5 scores after not taking any tests since Monday. I decided that would be my last full PT, since I left on a high note. It's all single sections and RC work in the Manhattan book from here on out. I don't want to run the risk of scoring low on a PT this week and shattering my confidence.sev wrote: Same boat with PT81. well.. PT 66 today, last PT before saturday...
166..
RC: -7
LG: -3
LR: -2/-4
I think I may postpone but I'm not sure... I'm really annoyed with RC mostly at this point.

Re: The Official September 2017 Study Group
good shit! that RC fucked you I see, I know how that feels lol but still a 172!!littlewing67 wrote:Last PT before d-day. Granted, I did this PT almost exactly a year ago with manhattan prep administering it as a mock lsat, so I never reviewed it. I think I scored a 164 lol a bad omen of the real test day last sept.... I am taking my score with a grain of salt since I have seen the questions before (not that I remember them), but I didn't want to kill my confidence scoring low on a PT. Half the battle is in your head with this test
PT 73
RC -6
EXP LR -3
LR -1
LG -0
LR -3
------------
172
Anyways, are we allowed to bring lsat material into the test center to do some prep beforehand and then throw it away before entering the room? I wanted to do a LR section and look at a RC passage possibly.
and I'm not too sure, I'm sure they will say to just toss it. last year I saw a chick at the tables in the lobby doing logic games while everyone was on line. I'm sure if you just toss it beforehand you will be fine. I did my warm up in the car last year and it was ok

Re: The Official September 2017 Study Group
Managed to wreck my confidence by taking PT 80 today:
LR1: -5
RC: -4
LGe: -4
LG: -0
LR2: -4
-13 | 168
This is incredibly frustrating. I'm not sure how I plan to bounce back from it, but I'm considering taking PT 78 tomorrow untimed and casually over the course of the day, and then grading that. Even if it's an artificial score, it could help?

Damn I hate -10 and less curves. -7 for a 173 on PT75. Feel like -12 is my sweet spot and hope we get that this weekend.
I haven't decided if I want to take a PT tomorrow and Thursday or just Thursday. If I only do one is there one anyone would recommend from 76 to 81? Maybe I should try an easier one for confidence...

... LSAC just send me an email said that they reassigned a new test center for me at this point. Luckily enough the new test center is close enough I dont have to book another hotel, but it is still super annoying that I now have to take a taxi to the test instead of a 5 mins walk. why the LSAC has to do this to me just why

Took a PT way too late tonight while still not fully well and scored a 171. A little annoyed because I haven't dipped below 173 for a month or so. Planning to PT tomorrow. If it goes well, I may make it my last before Saturday.

I want to keep the momentum I've had going but I am at a loss of what to do. Just take some random timed sections??

random timed sections, or just relax. at this point you either know it or you dont. a fresh mind (for me at least) always seems to work better than one running on fumes. i'd drill as desired, review as necessary, and just take it easy.Walliums wrote:I want to keep the momentum I've had going but I am at a loss of what to do. I also have no accreditation to my suggestions, fwiw.

EXP RC (PT 76) -3

I'm going to keep taking morning PTs as my routine until test day. Not sure it's a good idea but I just can't help, that's who I am...always keep practicing until the last minute before test day and it has worked so far....
