Lab course and especially TA-ing with a prof is the best method imo - They'd definitely know you well enough to be able to speak about your skills in a meaningful way.

when I was planning my future I didn't realize LoRs had to be from profs who had taught you in class, so I accidentally developed relationships with profs I had no classes with. RIP.

let's do a brief overview of chargers:
Gets into Duke with money
Gets into Chicago
Get LoR quickly and without headache

Me
Relevant WE...
[+] Spoiler
Image
Jokes aside are you committing to Duke or still up in the air?
I am actually still waiting on 1 of my LORs though, but he was busy with research and after 3 months I told him I had found someone else and to get to it if he had time but that it was no longer a big issue. So 3 out of 4 were relatively smooth and quick to get and the professors were excited to write them. I oversold the ease of my experience

I'll be sitting down and crafting a few negotiation emails tomorrow. If the money at Duke line's up how the financial aid person I spoke with in person alluded to, then I'll be signing dem papers. Unless Chicago's scholly comes in and it's fire and the ASW in 2 weeks is likewise fire. Everything but those 2 schools I think were basically bumped out by a combo of the Chicago acceptance and the pleasantness of Durham
What are we talking about from duke here (PM if you need to keep it under wraps)? Duke is an amazing school man I hope it works out for you.

also 3/4. lmao I'm praying for 2 strong and 1 weakish at this point. Did you get it done after you graduated?

I actually did develop a fairly close relationship with a professor who has a similar background to myself, so law school forcing me to befriend my superiors was actually beneficial outside of admissions.

But hey everyone, I think we have a gunner here

Yeah it's only 2. I thought 2 and 3rd only if necessary was the recommended amount.

Just don't quote and it's good. I only got 54k, which it seems like was the number for everyone with numbers around mine this cycle so I guess it wasn't a low lowball offer, but lower than what my stats would have garned in previous cycles according to LSN. If they hit 75kish I think I'll be in, depending on Chicago's offer. I think a 50k difference between the 2 and I'd be willing to swallow the difference and go to Chicago though. Chicago is like 83% Fed Clerk/BL placement which I'd say means that everyone who wants the BL spots gets them without a doubt. I like that security.

I asked the professors for them about a year ago, save for the ones that I TA'd for. The first 2 came in around September and the final one which was the replacement option sent his in before Sept LSAT scores came out anyways

Ah okay, although at the end of the day, you probably want to have more than 2 people lined up anyways.

A few schools require only 1, like Michigan, Northwestern, Gtown. Berkeley and WUSTL don't even require one, technically

Yeah, but don't actually submit more than 2/3 I think.
They say no more than necessary, but I'm planning on 3 if I'm in good standing with my boss come app time (the 3rd would be from them).

FWIW, I went 3 at all of the schools that allowed that many
