Is there a reason why mechanical pencils are prohibited on the LSAT? I have not used a wooden pencil in over 14 years. (since 4th grade).

That is pretty sweet. I heard that it was to prevent people from bringing "notes" in where the lead is stored. I'm not sure what kind of notes would be helpful, or how a proctor would not see someone pull a piece of paper out of their pencil and read it, but whatever.

I think this topic has been beat up pretty well.. It comes down to it not being worth the risk of getting reported by proctors and schools seeing an irregularity/misconduct on your report.
