Bar Exam state question

Post by raasmania » Wed Oct 04, 2017 8:18 pm

Hi-I will be working at a firm in NYC following law school graduation. But, I am from CT and plan on studying for the bar at home in CT. Since both NY and CT have the UBE bar exam, can I take the CT exam, and as long as I get the requisite score, transfer into NY? The score for both states is 266 so no problem there. Please confirm is this is true. Thank you!

Generally, yes. However, your firm may not reimburse you for CT or they may have their own bar requirements.
