Duke Law DC Summer Institute

Post by dolphlaw » Mon Jun 05, 2017 11:14 am

Rising Junior interning in DC this summer with hopes of attending law school. Interested in attending the Duke Law Summer Institute in DC and was wondering if it was worth the money? For those who have attended, what was your experience like? Also, does anyone have any insight as to whether this would even look good on resume/application? Thank you!

Worth the money is a relative term. If you have $600 lying around it won't hurt. Could be a cool experience to meet professors and big law attorneys. If you're strongly considering Duke you would probably gain some good talking points for a why Duke essay as the classes are taught by Duke professors. I would also assume you get out what you put in. If you make a good impression on a professor who you stay in contact with that may be helpful.
However, don't take it expecting an admissions boost or for any other reason other than the experience. You'd be much better off spending $600 on lsat prep if it came down to one or the other.
