I was wondering if anyone thinks any of the T20 schools might drop in the US News ranking from 2012-2013? I was just thinking of Emory 2 years ago. So some people entering in the fall of 2009 originally thought they would be going to a T20, but when the rankings came out Emory fell to 28...

But does it really matter? Drop in whatever number it is won't correlate to lower placement. It's probably the other way around.

Illinois should fall out of the twenties. Recruiters may still come, but their parameters are likely to be tightened considerably.

I'll be interested to see if UT drops out of the T14 with all the talk about the dean being forced to resign and the talk about gender discrimination amongst profs... also US News and ABA had been talking about changing how they measure law school job placement stats specifically no longer allowing schools to include jobs that they are subsidizing for graduates...

I guess those jobs will probably disappear then if schools can't use them as part of their employment stats.

Yeah that's probably the sad truth. The only reason I can think why they would retain them is if it is attractive to candidates, and by offering such a program, are able to keep their medians up by getting more talent.

Although admittedly that's a stretch.

Yeah that's probably the sad truth.

I actually take it back, if the schools can make money off of their own unemployed students by offering those programs it's still a win even if they aren't getting the double win by also getting the data to boost their employment stats.
