While we're talking about these things, can any current students chime in about paper courses? Everything I've read says that your grade is almost always based on a single exam, yet two of the 1L classes I sat in on when doing tours had papers assigned to them. I'm sure the catch-all answer is that it depends on the professor, but I'm wondering if there is maybe a broader shift away from the one-test standard.

The only 1l courses I know with papers are in your legal writing class. Upper level classes will have papers in seminars etc
