That's awesome that you got in!

Eh, doubt I'd apply to Yale tbh, unless I get a really high score haha.

I got the Ruby at Chicago but am leaning towards Yale (I probably want to go into academia, etc). Would love to hear other people's reasoning for their respective choices. It's a tough decision...
That's tough. I'm a finalist for a full ride at NYU, but being from CA and wanting to work/live long term over here, and hoping I'll get decent need based aid from Yale/Stanford, I think that I'd choose Y/S over NYU (if I even get the full ride, which is unlikely). It's really tough though. If you definitely want to go into academia then it's hard to pass up Yale.

Is deposit still a thing?

I didn't find any information about that in the binder.

Also would like to know this! I've looked through the admissions binder and I don't believe it mentions a monetary deposit anywhere.

I know they canceled the deposit requirement for deferred students, I wonder if that was part of a more general policy

Anyone else think fin aid should come out next week? I mean, the binder said early march and anything march 15th or later constitutes mid to late march.

I emailed to confirm they had received the forms and was told it would be about a week (this was yesterday).

At the Monday Program (this past Monday), they said financial aid would come out in 1-2 weeks

Neither. And how can you honestly say they're equally important? lol. snuggie > aid

To be totally clear, if you got in within the past couple of days and haven't received any info/email about FAAST, the March 15 deadline is not something to freak out about? Seems like no one would be able/expected to gather all that material that fast, but that deadline is the only one listed anywhere that I could find. Thanks in advance!

Haven't been seriously looking yet, but hoping I might meet potential roommates at the ASW. Browsing craigslist tells me the furnished one bedrooms and studios in my price range (under $1000) are either far from the school or else in awful shape/not very nice. Better options for a split 2 or 3 bedroom it seems.
yeah my second priority at ASW will be finding a roommate, #1 is figuring out if I'm going there

This is very correct. Unless you absolutely want to be on your own and money isn't really an issue, you're much better off renting a large apartment (or even a house) with a bunch of roommates.

Also: furnished apartments suck. The furniture is invariably crap. There's an Ikea in New Haven, and a decent second-hand furniture market on craigslist. You're here for three years, it may be worth investing a few $ in decent living conditions.
