So what do we do if we want to live next to the school...

Also, best way of finding roommates?

I believe so; ask admissions for the link or search it on FB.

Hot Dougs was THE hot dog place, but Doug closed up shop a couple yrs ago. A few of his line cooks opened up Hot G Dogs, though, which is basically the same. It's kind a trek from the school, but if you want dogs...

Lifelong Chicagoan who feels the need to weight in.
Best south side dog - 35th street red hots
Best north side dog - gene and jude's (technically in the suburbs)
Best chain of dogs - those hot dog stands at Home Depots

I'm down to talk about other food, but I've given you all I've got for dogs: Hot Gs. Gene and Judes is like an hour from campus, although you could probably swing through on your way to/from the airport if you want to spend like $50 on a taxi.

Noice. What's a good weight gym by NU? Preferably one with bags as well?

Any MMA/Kickboxing places around there too?

Lifelong Chicagoan here as well. My votes:

South Side- US Cellular Field (true) [AKA 'Guaranteed Rate Park' ]
North Side- Devil Dawgs
Out of the way- Superdawg Drive-In
Chain- nah. (but those ones @ Home Depot are pretty great.....)
