Are most people planning on staying for the Diversity Day during ASW? I'm interested in learning more about the Women'a Law Association, but feel sort of weird staying for a Diversity Day as a cis/het/white woman?

Any sense of whether H's drop in ranking will have any substantive impact on the quality of faculty they can attract, job prospects, etc.? I assume because it's H this won't really matter, but TLS seems to be freaking out and I'm interested to hear what everyone's thoughts are.

I would say zero impact. These are simply the imperfect and publicly scorned rankings of a single magazine. TLS likes to overanalyze and overhype everything so don't worry. :)

Even if it did matter, H and S have switched back and forth several times between 2 and 3 and it does not seem to have any effect.

I would think it is fine to dress pretty casually unless told otherwise. I went to Columbia's ASW, and some people there were in jeans and a t-shirt.

They sent me a book called "Most Blessed of the Patriarchs." Interesting title.

The hotel prices are outrageous (IMO). I just booked an airbnb. Does anyone know where we can find a schedule for ASW? I'd like to coordinate with my host.

Alright -- here is the all important question keeping me up at night: does HLS give us free swag at ASW?

I got a water bottle for visiting normally, so maybe they do for ASW as well?

I don't think you should feel weird about staying for it and I think it should be open for anyone who is interested. I myself am leaning towards joining the WLA for the affinity lunch even though I've already signed up with another group I relate to. Oh well.

Yeah, signed up for the May one.
I mean, $1950 to $300 is a good deal, plus it (probably?) looks good on your resume

Suit is probably too much. The email said casual, so wearing jeans is definitely fine.

I'm thinking of signing up for it too. Not sure about resume value but could be a good primer for other Business Law stuff.

Has anyone else checked out the schedule for parents for ASW this weekend? My dad is coming to Cambridge with me to help me look at apartments. I'm assuming since they provide a separate schedule for parents that it wouldn't be "weird" for him to attend those events. The events offered are basically just a tour, financial aid info, and housing info. I will say I agree that it is weird to have your parents with you for the general ASW schedule and events, but I think my dad would enjoy the tour/housing info. Thoughts?

False alarm lol. My dad just looked at the schedule and said, "I'm not going to any of this."

Checking in.

Does anyone know how long after the call do you get an email. I am like 90%s sure I got into HLS today, but to be honest I blacked out after the caller said she had good news and can't really remember anything.

Just want the email for posterity's sake. And to make doubly sure.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
