I asked in the "ask a student" thread for good spots. if others are interested, we could also have a tls meetup during the game. if one is not yet plannedchandhi wrote:Me, probably!dietcoke1 wrote:anyone else interested in finding a good spot to watch the sweet 16 game during ASW?

Has anyone looked at Northwood apartments for living? It's cheap and works with the school timeline and doesn't force you into paying for meals dorm style... I just haven't heard much info about it.

I found quite a few last night during my search. Mostly of those houses that get turned into apartments.herecomesthesun wrote:A2's housing market is ridiculous. People find their apartments in the fall. But there are definitely still places (it's just harder to find one really close to the school). I'd suggest looking at houses over on East Universitybrinicolec wrote:If apartments are on WL right now, is it likely that they will end up with openings or...?

Decided today to bite the bullet (and pretend I didn't see the price) and cancel my plans to go to BU's ASW and go to Michigan's instead... Just searching for an airbnb now, but everything else is booked.

It will likely be on at the auction, which is the law school wide event that evening. Raises money for loans/grants for public interest folk.dietcoke1 wrote:anyone else interested in finding a good spot to watch the sweet 16 game during ASW?

Yes. Although I'm rather annoyed that they gave the worst possible time slot (7PM Thursday) which means probably skipping the whatever event they have planned for us at 7PM Thursday. But oh well.dietcoke1 wrote:anyone else interested in finding a good spot to watch the sweet 16 game during ASW?

Umm, really??? My recollection of Rick's (albeit a tad dated) was that it was the best place to try and get laid but perhaps not the best place to watch a game.dryoasis wrote:Rick's American Cafe is the best bar for sports gamesdietcoke1 wrote:anyone else interested in finding a good spot to watch the sweet 16 game during ASW?
Did Skeeps and/or the jug both close or am I just wrong?

I was waiting for someone to call me out lol, rick's is not even remotely the place to catch a game. best bet is probably the brown jug or blue lep, although both will be busy

I'm glad my 5 year old Ann Arbor knowledge shan't reign supreme. No Thai is still yummy though right? These are the kinds of things we can't fuck around about.dryoasis wrote:UghNonAmus wrote:Umm, really??? Are any people who registered for the first preview weekend still waiting for their hotel assignments?

I haven't gotten the email that says what exactly those specific arrangements are (like I am sure I will have a roommate), but the first email I got when I paid says everyone is staying at the Graduate.chandhi wrote:No, I thought we were all staying at the Graduate?STribe14 wrote:Are any people who registered for the first preview weekend still waiting for their hotel assignments?

Ah, thanks, I just saw on the Preview Weekend page where it mentions that we are staying st The Graduate.chandhi wrote:No, I thought we were all staying at the Graduate?STribe14 wrote:Are any people who registered for the first preview weekend still waiting for their hotel assignments?
I was looking at the schedule and it mentioned we would receive an e-mail a week before the event with more information on our hotel, so I was in a mild panic since I didn't hear anything after my registration confirmation
