Would also be curious for this. Planning on booking flights / rentals / hotels this week.
There is a link to the accommodations page on the admitted students' website and it gives a list of nearby hotels:
http://www.law.virginia.edu/html/inside ... hotels.htm

I'm also looking on hotels.com and tripadvisor to compare hotels and there are a lot of options from $80ish+!
If anyone is looking to go halfsies/thirdsies on a hotel room/suite I'd be down

Is anyone else disheartened that the only ASW is during St Patrick's day? Not only that, but for me, it's on my last spring break of UG

Thursday night's last activity is in a bar and Friday's activities are over by 7. Might be good to check out the C'ville social scene.

Hey future Lawhoos! Just popping in to offer a current student to ask questions, so go ahead and quote me if you have things you want to know about your upcoming move to the Disneyland of law. Welcome to the happiest law school on earth!

Sort of a broad question, and I know Charlottesville is a small town, but are there other, larger towns or cities nearby you'd recommend looking at for job openings? My SO will need employment, and at this point isn't very picky about what kind of employment. It just seems that options are pretty limited, but I don't know -- taking traffic into account -- what cities are a reasonable commute.
The answer is, unfortunately, not really. Cville is a bit of an oasis in the middle of central Virginia. Richmond might be doable if you live out that direction and split the commute, but you'd both be looking at decent commutes then. My SO currently drives about an hour north to work in Culpeper, but they have a very specific career that they can't really compromise on, and that was the best available option. I know several SOs who have had to broaden their job searches because they used to work in, for instance, marketing, and couldn't get typical marketing jobs in the area. Others temporarily abandon their career field and do higher paying retail work just to get a paycheck.

Sorry it's not a better answer, but such is the nature of living in Cville. I've also heard Virginia Law Families has a pretty decent network in helping SOs find employment, so that's worth checking out. If you want more detailed advice, feel free to PM.

Yeah 48% is brutal, would love to be there in the fall, but need the monies to work out.
And with my stats it was a miracle to get in. I have no schools close in ranking (next is Texas and Vandy). LOL So no negotiation power :( Dont want to miss out on the opportunity though! Hope it works out for you!! :)

D1 rugby. As long as my job is to tackle SS as I round second, I got this fam.

Noob question, but how do sections work? Does everyone in the various sections have the same classes?

Yes. It looks like everyone takes the same classes first semester just with different professors at different times.

This tactic will probably come in handy in the Spring tournament against other law schools, you can take out their best player Sean Payton style

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
