you have to participate to get the inside jokes, and there are less than there used to be. discussion is at least topic adjacent the majority of the time. it helps to thing of the lounge as fluid where stuff spills over from thread to thread. a good way to start is to hop in an OT thread like sports or fitness then branch out from theredasq5511 wrote:

There were definitely some TLSers at Duke's ASW. You can really pick out who surfs the boards at least by the lingo they use.ashrice13 wrote:I was way too chicken shit to ask anyone if they were a TLSer at my asw yesterdayGitaroo_Dude wrote:Met amta this weekend. Major bucket list item achieved.

I loved it. I went there with zero intention of attending the school, but it's now kind of my 1B. Still have to visit two more schools, but WashU has kind of thrown everything into flux for me because I came away seriously considering it.brinicolec wrote:Oh okay. How'd you like the school?
Likewise.amta wrote:great to meet ya dude. so glad to hear im nicer in person.
And yes, can confirm amta is a cool dude irl.
I feel like the average TLSer outs themselves pretty easily. Once you hear someone reference employment scores or casually say "T14", that's your in.ashrice13 wrote:I was way too chicken shit to ask anyone if they were a TLSer at my asw yesterday

Figured you would have got me easy if you found out I was the one kid from Kansas. But yeah the most I talked to someone about online stuff was r/lawschooladmissions and LSN, not TLS yet.ashrice13 wrote:I was way too chicken shit to ask anyone if they were a TLSer at my asw yesterdayGitaroo_Dude wrote:Met amta this weekend. Idk why people treat TLS like this real awkward lowkey thing lol.Dodocogon wrote:Figured you would have got me easy if you found out I was the one kid from Kansas. Except I'm really bad at starting conversations with people so I mingled less than most.Dodocogon wrote:Figured you would have got me easy if you found out I was the one kid from Kansas. I did, however, find people that I'm guessing aren't TLSers. Like the guy in front of me who was on his phone reading ESPN during the entire mock class. You're going far, kid.

Yeah, it's more the fact I just didn't bring it up. I've enjoyed joking about the stigmas here with people before thobrinicolec wrote:Idk why people treat TLS like this real awkward lowkey thing lol.

lol. We have a reputation of being elitist and snobby and I guess some of us don't want people to know at ASWs that they are a TLSer because it might give them a bad image/first impression. On /r/lawschooladmissions you see some comments on there of people talking about TLS like it's a bad thing. I commented that I go on TLS and I got downvoted lol.brinicolec wrote:Idk why people treat TLS like this real awkward lowkey thing lol.Dodocogon wrote:Figured you would have got me easy if you found out I was the one kid from Kansas. Unfortunately this is true. The few times I brought up TLS I was told about it's arroganceTorres1893 wrote:lol. If someone else brings it up then it's fine, but I certainly won't

I pretty much spoke like I've never been on TLS. like I would say "top schools" instead of T13/14 and stuff like that.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
