Thanks. I should be working now, buttttt I have 77 days until I wrap up. They've gotten 15 years out of me, I figure the man has gotten what he's gonna get.
Also, the illustrious BW stops by to say hi, he's like a TLS celebrity right?

I would have that many as well, but I am taking a full month off between work and school. I've worked since I was about 13, and I have never taken that much time off, so I'm going to give it a shot. My guess is that by day four of week two I'll be bored out of my skull, but whatever.thelostweasley wrote:I wish I only had 77 days my countdown is at 105. Rumor has it that he's pretty hot stuff around here. We should be honored by his presence.

There is a post about this on the Class of 2019 FB page....there seems to be confusion how the law block works.Leagles5161 wrote:How do I get football season tickets? #priorities

UG alum here. I believe they are going back to a lottery system this year thanks to Coach McElwain kicking ass.Leagles5161 wrote:How do I get football season tickets? #priorities
Basically you pay $105 (maybe more $ nowadays) for a chance. If you're selected you get the season tickets, if you're not selected you get a refund.

I asked a couple of 1/2Ls about the orientation program and the general consensus was that it is kinda pointless, but I ain't gonna lie, I'm looking forward to it. Last years schedule seemed pretty interesting.thelostweasley wrote:Is it August yet? I don't know how I'm going to survive at work for the next 3 months.

Looking forward to it as well. I did hear that the Dean is revamping orientation this year.Sonar80 wrote:I asked a couple of 1/2Ls about the orientation program and the general consensus was that it is kinda pointless, but I ain't gonna lie, I'm looking forward to it. In order to ensure that students enter their first year at UF Law with a solid foundation, a basic legal writing preparatory program will be integrated with the 1L orientation program. The initiatives also seek to capitalize on the small-section experience in first-year doctrinal courses such as torts and constitutional law, as well as piloting smaller section classes in Introduction to Lawyering classes.
“One of the goals is to improve the quality of our students’ writing,” Ankersen said, adding that comments from practicing attorneys have spurred a focus on ensuring students graduate with honed legal writing abilities. “Despite all the discussion about technology-driven changes in the way we practice, research, writing and legal analysis remain the bread and butter of the profession.”

Yeah, if they do the new Gators Banquet again, my wife is gonna wanna do that. I don't know that I'll be able to keep her out of there, haha. The rest of the schedule actually looks like a pretty good time, I mean, it can't be all bad, we ain't digging ditches!

Definitely, it will be a nice change being back in the ivory tower! I wonder what community service activities they have planned?Sonar80 wrote:Yeah, if they do the new Gators Banquet again, my wife is gonna wanna do that. Is anyone else relentlessly checking to see if they've posted any kind of schedule or section selection on their One.UF account? Yeah...me either.
It kind of blows my mind that insurance isn't accounted for in the COA. Even for a single person it's $1800/year. For a family it's closer to $5600/yr. That seems like something that would be included since you MUST have it and cannot attend without some sort of health insurance. Also, the gov't suddenly stops caring that you're broke when you check that magic "student" block in any form they want you to fill out.

Now that I've said something, it'll be digging ditches on the side of University Ave to help with drainage in the poorer parts of the community. I'll gladly do it, but slowly die inside from the irony.medtolaw wrote:Definitely, it will be a nice change being back in the ivory tower! I think it's because not everyone needs to buy insurance. For example, they might be on their parent's or spouse's insurance. I remember for undergrad I contacted the financial aid office and they increased my COA to include it. Have you tried contacting Victoria Houghton?Sonar80 wrote:Is anyone else relentlessly checking to see if they've posted any kind of schedule or section selection on their One.UF account?
