Anyone still looking for a place to live in Austin? I am a University of Wisconsin Law grad '13 and I own a duplex property on Riverside near downtown Austin. It's 1035 sq. ft. 2bed 2bath. Please contact me at the following address and I can send you more info: atxkenneth2003@gmail.com.

Am I missing something, or are we still waiting on our section assignments and class schedules? Want to make sure I didn't miss an important email!

Nope, still waiting. Rumor is we're currently being "sectionized" and should know Thursday or Friday of this week.

I was able to see the society I was placed in for a short period of time on Monday, but it no longer shows up. The class schedule was empty though

Do y'all have class schedules and professors yet?

Whenever you get that info, I suggest posting your class/professor combo here, and in this topic, and getting some general tips.

UT Direct under Current Course Schedule. Professors weren't listed on that page, but I could see them when I clicked on the "Look Up Textbooks..." link.

Hey y'all! Haven't posted in here in a while, but I'd be glad to help any way I can once you figure out professors or if you're just looking for general advice. Had someone help me tremendously through all of 1Hell, so paying it forward is the least I can do.

Everyone's schedules should be up on their "Freshlaw" page now (in the event you couldn't see it earlier).

Torts - Powers
Civ Pro - Mullenix
Con Law - Chesney

Could any of you Elder Ls offer any other advice/comments on these profs and/or general survival of 1L?

Thanks!

If any of you get McGarity for torts, let me know. I got an outline last year from a 2L that saved my life.

I have McGarity for torts!

I'm sure someone who had these profs will jump in, but I can tell you that Jinks was very well liked by my friends (who were in his crim class) and his class is very, very heavily structured around memorization of the Model Penal Code (which you will learn all about soon enough!)

Again, not profs that I had but I am somewhat familiar with them. Bill Powers is supposed to be the G.O.A.T., and I am sure you will enjoy his class- he wrote your torts textbook along with some other UT legends- all of whom are still teaching (for now...)

I didn't have Chesney but I have only heard very positive things about him. I know zero about Mullenix :(

Mason is a new LRW prof this year, but she is very nice, approachable, and organized.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
