Being a 29th'r is kind of awful. And, I really don't want to go to work today. Who invented this terrible system? Why am I trading my life for currency?

Happy Wednesday.
My goal at work today is to understand what Rhianna is saying in "Work"...so far I've got "work work work work work" and "dirt dirt dirt dirt dirt."
Rapgenius would be too easy.

We should have a new thread exclusive to 29thrs. I can't take all this negativity and "money isn't worth it" talk. I mean, if money wasn't worth it, why would anyone do it?

Can 5thrs join? Having health insurance until school starts is a great motivator, but I'm starting to wonder if just taking a two week nap in bubble wrap is a good alternative...

Everyone remember that medicaid exists. Also, FFM. You have options of health insurance that will be less expensive than cobra.
Both are super easy to apply for.

State medicaid wherever you're moving, and the federal market place.

I'm pretty uninformed about insurance but when I had a job with no benefits I got insurance through the gov website that I was paying less than $100 monthly for (in oregon)
My current employer said cobra would be $900/month for the insurance I have through them which is the sole reason I am working 80 hours in august lol

Both my parents are teachers so I have full medical coverage x2... I've never paid a single dollar for anything medical. So clutch.

IDK how other people's insurance works. Mine goes through the end of the month for which I am enrolled (so an extra three weeks). Then I think you have 30 days or something to elect COBRA after your insurance expires? A lady I know in HR told me basically not to elect it, then elect it if I needed coverage during my like, 10 day gap

Yep, it would backdate assuming you can pay the cobra premium.

Don't try to come to Florida with that, because our fearless leader (Skeletor) has decided that we students don't deserve that. So, I have to pay a bunch of money (over $1800/yr) for insurance.
And yes, I'll be about two weeks without insurance and plan on sitting myself and my family in my bathtub with armed guards without.

Is florida still pissing away money making people piss in a cup for foodstamps or unemployment or whatever it was?
