Depends on how you feel about sleeping on a twin bed.

My gender identity requires a full mattress or larger. Columbia will cave or I'm starting a movement.

Yeah, getting to pick out and sleep on a new mattress probably excites me more than it should, but I have no shame. It's been years since I slept on a decent bed, so I'm going to make damn sure it's good one. I was originally planning on picking out a mattress before moving and then buying it and having it delivered once I was in the city, but I actually found a pretty good mattress store in midtown and now I'm kind of wondering if it'd be better to wait.

I may have made a big mistake. I really hope we keep and store furniture as we choose.

Pretty bummed I wasn't paired with a law student, even though I specifically asked for a law student roommate. Even though I was told my requests were received, it pretty much seems all my specific requests were ignored...price and location are good, so hoping for the best!

I got the flipside of that deal, paired with an incoming law student in a 2 bedroom but didn't really get what I want in price or location.

If my undergrad taught me anything it's that frasier is a racist, sexist, transphobic, xenophobic, agenderphobic bigot. #microaggression

when i was at ASW some of the current students mentioned that if their specific requests weren't met they reached out to housing and were able to get switched pretty easily. i think this was specifically in reference to having a law school vs grad school roommate but may have been the case for other requests as well. i know technically if you decline your offer you go back on a waitlist, but maybe if you contact housing they're able to do something to switch it? it might be worth a shot
I have tried, and after being rerouted through UAH several times, the two people I was told to talk to both are not answering calls or emails (for over 24 hours). My offer expires Monday, so if I don't hear today, I'm going to assume I won't hear back in time.

same, I've reached out to both UAH as well as the law school housing contact, and gotten no response. My offer expires Sunday :(

Yeah only 100 blocks from Columbia! :P

Serious question: has anyone who got assigned an apartment share been able to see a floor plan of their apartment? I'm trying to figure out the square footage for the bedrooms. Haven't been able to find this info yet.

Yes, my assignment had a link to a PDF of the floorplan right underneath the apartment type. So it looked like this:
Apartment Type: Two Bedroom
Floor Plan (PDF): View
Furnished: No

I emailed housing and they got back to me with an approximate floor plan in a couple days.
