I asked LC last week and they said they have put me on waitlist and suggest me to look for off campus housing. =(
I am moving into Munger in the next few days. Live there! It's better than the LC!
I submitted my application this Tuesday and haven't hear anything back yet. Do you know how long should I expect their response? Thanks!
I applied way back in January and only just now signed my contract, so I can't say how long it would be for you to get it worked out. I highly doubt it will take 4-5 months. They are decent at answering email correspondence, although they never answer on the weekends. Just contact them at their email address ASAP, and they'll get back to you on Tuesday most likely.

Thanks for the response! Hope we can meet at Munger on August. =)

Munger seems pretty sweet as far as student housing goes. Northwood caught my eye with its cheaper rates ($596/month for 2 bedroom), but are all of those apartments furnished? And it looks like I'd be taking the bus to the law school if I went there - wondering if this would cost $ and/or be a general pain in the ass.

I was considering a north wood apartment, it looks like some are furnished, but friends who went to mich undergrad turned me off of living there, at least for 1L. It is really far from the main campus and apparently during the winters especially you can end up feeling pretty isolated and miserable. This might be only indicative of undergrad experience though so if you're planning on spending your whole day at the law school and only heading home at night it might be fine. Pretty sure there is a free bus

They vary quite a bit. The ones facing the quad are mostly like 140 sq ft or something. Literally you have room for little aside from the provided bed, desk, and chair. Ones facing the street are somewhat larger (maybe 160 sq ft?) and have have enough space to add a love seat or something. Take solace in the fact that it's super convenient and there's no reason to spend time in your room doing anything other than sleeping and watching Netflix.

I know this has been discussed a bit already, but thoughts on season tickets?

Dean Z's email today mentioned the window for them opens tomorrow. Seems a bit unwise given it will be 1L fall and Mich St and OSU are both away this year. Does anyone know if single game tickets are usually available?

Not worth it this year.

There is a season holder resale site that will list tickets for each individual game that season holders don't want to attend.

If Big 10 football isn't your passion and since OSU is away, I would buy individual tickets to games that interest you and pass on season tickets this year. For example, if you want to attend the first game of season or Penn State game, someone will usually be selling their ticket for around $70 (the first game is always fun and PSU is the only home game worth going to this year). No one wants to be stuck with Colorado Buffaloes tickets. Save your money for season tickets when we play big teams at home and the buyout is worth it (OSU, Spartans & PSU).

Go to the bar to watch this year and buy season when OSU is home.

Worth noting, though, that season ticket assignments for subsequent years will be based on whether you get season tickets this year--via the points system. If you think you'll get season tickets net year and the year after, I would just get them this year. You're not saving that much $$ if you plan on going to at least 3-4 games this year, especially since Mich will likely be a top-10 team.

Also, going to the bar to watch the game /=/ the Big House experience.

Don't they already have one created for Michigan law students? I swore that was in the email that Dean Z sent yesterday.

I think I'm gonna skip on the season tickets this year for a combination of reasons- its during 1L fall, I know I will miss at least two home games already, and this year's home schedule is not very good. I'll plan on going to one of the Penn St/Wisconsin games and probably one other game.

For subsequent years, your seat, or your group's seats, will depend on the average point total of everyone in your group. You get points by attending games, and more points by arriving at the game by gametime. Thus, you'll get better seats in subsequent years if you buy tickets this year.

Last thing: Even though the schedule isn't great this year, the team is likely to be good. Additionally, ticket prices are still pretty low--especially compared to where they were two years ago. If you're smart, even if you only go to 1-2 games, you can likely recoup all of your money, and possibly even make a profit, by selling your tickets on the law school student email listserve and the University-wide Facebook group Maize Market.
