SO has never been to Europe and I've only been to obscure locations in Bavaria, so probably an extended London/Paris trip. Wanted to do Machu Picchu, but I refuse to do it unless I can do the 4 day Inca trail hike.LoganCouture wrote:ooh where to / how long?Dr. Nefario wrote:Spending more time planning my bar trip than reading.

sounds fun! I'm hoping to spend like a week chilling on the beach to relax and then maybe go abroad somewhere but haven't really figured out where.Dr. Nefario wrote:SO has never been to Europe and I've only been to obscure locations in Bavaria, so probably an extended London/Paris trip. I don't know if I'll go right away though since I'll also need to find (and furnish) a new apartment shortly after taking the bar. And I have to figure out if SO can come on a trip with me since he has that pesky work thing.
interested to hear anyone else's bar trip plans!

Re: LES MISERA3LES: ONE SEMESTER MORE
I've been to Santorini and Naxos and really liked both islands. Super romantic, beautiful architecture, amazing food. I skipped Mykonos because I heard it was clubby/nightlife focused and that's not really my thing. Chose Naxos because I heard it was quiet, beautiful and had amazing beaches (true).buckiguy_sucks wrote:IF this is now a bar trip thread does anyone have any non-Mykonos Greece recommendations
Athens is definitely worth visiting (for the Acropolis/Parthenon alone) but IMO the real highlight was Santorini. If I go back someday I'd also like to visit Crete and/or Paros.

Prolly gonna have to take mine early August but SO has the month off work so it works nicely. Trying to move before graduation so it’s easier on us.LoganCouture wrote:

I thought about taking a second trip alone but idk if I could really enjoy being alone somewhere random. I like company too much.

Same reason for wanting to skip Mykonos, I’m not sure we have enough time for Island hops so I was basically fishing to see if like a day in Athens then what Island to hit for a few days.LoganCouture wrote:I've been to Santorini and Naxos and really liked both islands. Yeah, then I'd definitely recommend Santorini. The caldera views are so stunning. I stayed in Fira (it was less expensive to get a nicer hotel) but Oia is beautiful as well.buckiguy_sucks wrote: Same reason for wanting to skip Mykonos, I’m not sure we have enough time for Island hops so I was basically fishing to see if like a day in Athens then what Island to hit for a few days.

Because we're talking bar trips, does anyone have tips for Azores?

I have barely given any thought to a bar trip. I'm probably going to a bar immediately after the bar though.

I want to keep it to 5k. We are staying in the U.S., however. Perhaps Maine.
