My definition of "capitalize" involves traveling, which costs at least some money no matter what, and my definition of "saving money" is staying home so I'm not paying rent for nothing and spending money only on essentials.

Two weeks "vacation" means independent research project, finishing up a paper for summer classes, and writing as many cover letters as possible. Shitty, but not as shitty as 2L (yet).

2 weeks working a part-time job, friend visiting for a week, and then spent a small chunk to take a cruise with SO after that. I'm pretty comfortable with what I saved, but know it'll drop some between now and bar trip.PeanutsNJam wrote:What are you guys doing with your weeks off before school starts? Re: If you're going 3L, keep going [PnJ, this is the right place]
This thread has fallen from the main page like way too many times; I'd like to vote for daily check-ins given that 3L is soon to be upon us and none of us have any excuse to be too busy (itfr what happened?)
Here is my contribution for the day: halfway through the summer I told a tailor that I wore a 34 in pants. She fucking literally lol'd and handed me a 40, and they fit really well
Unrelatedly I'm trying out exercise again

Story of my current sad overweight existence except I believed until recently that my pant size was 36 because I am not *that* delusionalzhenders wrote:Here is my contribution for the day: halfway through the summer I told a tailor that I wore a 34 in pants. As to what I'm doing once I'm finally done (don't work 12 weeks over the summer people it is not worth it): vacation for a week, then getting the journal in shape for the upcoming year and being high on painkillers due to my wisdom teeth getting pulled

Damn it hikko takin it to the next level, have you correlated savings to test scores yet? I'm a terrible data point for that exercise btwHikikomorist wrote:Mind sharing roughly how much that was?Dr. Nefario wrote:2 weeks working a part-time job, friend visiting for a week, and then spent a small chunk to take a cruise with SO after that. Not sure we know enough to say you're a terrible data point, assuming a terrible data point is one that defies the correlation. One could argue that smarter people have greater confidence in their future income stream and so feel less compelled to save.Hand wrote:Damn it hikko takin it to the next level, have you correlated savings to test scores yet?
