UC Davis Class of 2018
Didn't see one of these for Davis. Figured I'd start one up for anyone who has committed!

No idea yet. I've heard a lot of law students live at 8th and Wake.

I talked with some 1ls at ASD, and they said 8th and Wake was the party spot for the law students. The problem is you can't really avoid the noise if you want to. For me I'm looking at south Davis. It's close to school and a little more quiet, suburban neighborhoody. Plus you can always go party at 8th and Wake, and the party's never at your house!

Yea 8th and wake just does not sound like the place for me. Four law students under one roof? Sounds stressful. I'd rather escape the rat race at home. I'm primarily looking studio/1br's in the downtown area. Close to King Hall and lots of fun things to do! Just not that much housing...

I hear that the Apts on Covell are good places to live.

Does anyone know how bad the commute is from Sacramento to Davis? Everything there is a lot cheaper and feels less shady.
The housing situation in Davis itself is so bad, but I guess that's what I get for committing so late.

I commuted from North Sac to Davis for undergrad and it was a nightmare. Door to door the commute was about an hour. If you are looking at areas around West Sac you may have a commute time of only 20-30 mins, but any further out and it is going to be a pain. Keep in mind West Sac is not the best neighborhood. I agree the housing situation in Davis is a nightmare. The pricing is vulgar and the vacancy is limited. I just barely got a 1 bedroom with the amenities I was looking for in South Davis and I've been looking for months. You may want to consider Woodland?
