I'm a rising 2L and everyone I know that wanted a job had one. A hand full had jobs that paid about $15/hour. Those aren't too hard to find. But I only know of about 6 people that had good paying summer work. Most people use the first summer to earn their service hours.

1L summer is also a good opportunity to (1) take an unpaid position with a nonprofit (either in-house at a non-legal nonprofit or with a PI organization such as legal aid or other legal services group) to knock your public service hours out of the way, and (2) to take an externship for credit to set yourself up for an even 3LOLier 3L year.

I interned for a judge part of my 1L summer, and worked for Legal Aid the other part (got my public service hours done that way, too). The judge was by far the best experience.

Yeah, most people I know who were looking found stuff. Not many people in 1L summer associates (I don't think anyone I know actually) but some people in paid positions, quite a few people with judges and a bunch of people knocking out their public service hours

Does participating in the clinics on campus count towards service hours?

I know 1Ls that worked at HayBoo, Baker McKenzie, Bracewell, Fish & Richards, Zelle Hoffman, and SettlePou. The last 2 don't pay as much as the large firms but they still paid a lot more than most.

And I forgot to add, half those people are either a minority or going into IP.

Yeah, judicial stuff is great, especially when they give you lots of time to courtwatch.

Especially in criminal court where defendants curse the judge during sentencing.

Does anyone who has taken this class previously have an outline they would be willing to share?

You don't need an outline for that class. Take good notes and focus on what he says is good/the best way.

Hi! I have Professor Bloom this semester for Con Law II, and I have heard that there is a "Bloom Bible" for his class. I was wondering if anyone who took this class with Bloom would be willing to share this "bible" with me? Thank you so much!

Does anyone know what to expect? How I should prepare?

I don't know anyone who has a clue.
