Re: NYU c/o 2018
I think the PATH thing is risky (although I've thought about it myself).
There's talk of getting rid of PATH late-night service. I have no idea whether or not it will pass, but it's apparently on the table:

It's already a pain in the ass waiting for a train late at night, but my fear is, if this plan goes through, I could be studying late at night and end up stranded in NYC.

They officially tabled that plan, but I do worry that they could bring it back. If that were to happen, I would just have to depend on my husband to come and pick me up if I were to stay late on campus. I would definitely prefer to live in Brooklyn or Queens, but if my husband gets a job outside the city, I don't want his daily commute to be completely awful.

I just signed my indenture and deposited.
I am now entertaining the idea of living off campus and looking for potential roommate(s). The lower the rent the better, but obviously it is what it is.
Message me either here or on facebook: Patrick Sandman.

Not going to NYU but can speak to this - the only issue you're going to have with the PATH is that you can't use monthly/unlimited metro cards. The difference in rent would more than make up for that.Skool wrote:I think the PATH thing is risky (although I've thought about it myself).

Has anyone else noticed that the number of required credits/semester (at least 12, but no more than 15) and the number of credits for the required 1L courses don't seem to add up?
I mean, over the full year it rounds out to 30 credits, but it seems like in the fall semester you have to take 15.5...?
Am I crazy/doing the math wrong?? Can anyone explain this to me?
First-year courses: http://www.law.nyu.edu/academics/course ... earcourses

You're not wrong: 1LF is 15.5, 1LS is 14.5. That 15 hour max requirement is for when you actually have a say in your courses (2L, 3L). Don't worry about it for another year since 1L is standardized and thus your classes are automatically selected for you.andreaca wrote:Has anyone else noticed that the number of required credits/semester (at least 12, but no more than 15) and the number of credits for the required 1L courses don't seem to add up?

Anyone know how the NetID assignment works (and how to get one as fast as possible)? Just deposited and want to submit an application for housing ASAP.oaktown wrote:Deposited on Monday. Sent out an email asking to get my NetID expedited (they normally say 3-7 business days) so I could apply for housing before the soft deadline. Was told they would do their best. Logged on this morning and was able to get my NetID and housing application in. Very happy.
Thanks!

Dumb question. Other than accepting award and depositing, what do we need to do to set loans in motion?

My undergrad university sent an official transcript 3 weeks ago to NYU and I haven't received a confirmation of receipt yet. Has anyone else received confirmation and if so, how long did it take to get it post-mailing of the transcript?

Re: NYU c/o 2018
Just to clarify- we only need to get a transcript from the school that we graduated from showing that we received a degree, right? We don't have to send transcripts from anywhere we transfered from or community colleges we took summer classes at right?

Actually my award had some fine print at the bottom asking for a copy of my parents' tax return. I got in touch with the finaid office and they confirmed that they needed those documents, so I emailed it to em. IDK what the deadline for this is/was though.universityof wrote:Dumb question. Does anyone know when we'll be receiving the tuition bill? Or can we already pay it online and I just can't find it?

Last year we got our first bill on July 23 and it was "due" August 5th but really it's not due until much later because almost everyone just has the bill taken out of their first loan disbursement when that happens later in August.

If you withdraw from the school, do you also need to withdraw from housing separately?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
