Top Law Schools

Submitted my deposit on Wednesday. I'll see you all in the fall.

Paid my deposit today, but am still considering 2 other schools though.

University of Indiana and my local state school, The University of Kansas.

Signed a lease at the Place at 117, wouldn't mind rooming with a fellow law student! It's kinda far from campus but they have a shuttle that allegedly stops at 3 locations, which I have been told includes one right by the law school.

As for the Facebook group, haven't heard anything about that yet. Would they send an email out or something or should we search for it on Facebook ourselves?

For the Illinois College of Law 2017 facebook group, someone from our year (2017) just went ahead and made one, and then the admin sent an email out about it.

I read in an email from the school somewhere that if a student wants to make it, just go ahead and do the same as c/o 2017.

echoing what kmart said -- no one should be worried. if you haven't received an email about, it probably means that someone just hasn't made one yet for c/o 2018. But, I definitely suggest one of you guys make one, as it'll probably be easier to figure out housing situations and all that jazz.

There is a Facebook for UIUC Law class of 2018. Just search for it.

Haven't received any correspondence from the school since the first deposit. Should i be worried about that at least?

Why would you be? What is there to worry about? Did you pay the deposit?

I mean I was expecting to have received random generic email blasts, as well as some financial aid package materials. But if no one else has gotten anything, I guess it's stuff that we should be receiving closer to the beginning of the semester?

You probably should have received an email with regards to your financial aid awards, as well as some other information including setting up your "Enterprise" account or whatever it's called. If you didn't get that, I'd call admissions.

The day after paying, I received a thank you email confirming the receipt of my first deposit and a second one listing the next steps, health insurance, sending in a transcript, etc.

I received my financial aid award letter about a week prior to paying. The award didn't show my scholarship so I sent an email to the admissions dept and received the correct award letter a couple of days after paying.

So I'd just give them a call or shoot them an email. Have you filled out your FAFSA?

I'm in a 3 bedroom, and it's $399 + electricity (maybe gas too but I'm pretty sure they use electric heaters). Includes cable, internet, water, waste, and trash. 4 bedrooms were like $379 or something.

I meant still, not so...I don't talk like that. I definitely would consider it.

Comcast and AT&T in the area.

Comcast is around $30/mth for a year or so then goes up to about $60, but you can usually negotiate back down to something better. AT&T seems to be cheaper, but has less coverage and is much slower.
