Thanks for the response. I'm definitely going to NU, so I should probably stop being such a fuckboy and actually go to the event put on by the University instead of planning alternative vacations. See you guys there!
Bolded is the best decision.
As far as ASW goes, it's a pretty fun time, and I think there's a social one of the nights. All I know is that I was drunk both nights when I visited.

Thanks for the info! It is helpful to know that I will have to while, though I was really hoping to make some decisions sooner than that!

Speaking of, I can't find the "Scholarship & Grant Supplemental Application" for the life of me. Today's email states it's under the Financial Aid section of the admitted students site linked in our acceptance letter, but I really don't see it there. Anyone wanna point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
Edit: I feel incredibly stupid - that was easy to find.

Hey folks! Question on the scholarship app: when it says "asses your position for merit aid" on the first question are most of you just talking about finances/financial need? The way the question is worded and the word count limit makes it sound like there isn't much space to expand upon anything further but I was wondering what all your thoughts were

I answered that by talking about my work experience. I think they want you to pitch yourself.
Unless NW has a different definition of "merit aid" than I'm accustomed to seeing....

Two questions for this group and congrats everyone!!
1. For non-ED admits (I was admitted on 2/17) who are seriously interested but also still waiting to hear from other schools and see what $$ looks like from NU - any thoughts on whether timing for submitting the Candidate Response Form? Submit ASAP and select "will attend and pay deposit by deadline"? Or, wait to fill this out altogether until scholarships have been communicated? I could see the argument that if you submit before you plan to attend school might see you as more of a sure thing and then less inclined to give you as much $...that could also be totally off.
2. Does anyone know if you have to book a flight before submitting the travel request stipend? I see there's a field in the form to attach flight receipt but I am wondering if one should wait to get approved for the stipend before booking a flight? There's the typical language of "a limited number are available"

Submitted the supplemental scholarship application today. Today's the last day it can be submitted (to my understanding), and it includes 2 small essay requirements.

I believe you have until 5 pm CST on March 1, according to the email, but it's probably a good idea to get it in earlier just in case.
Just submitted my application as well! I was dragging my feet in getting it done, but I think it was a good exercise in reflecting about what makes Northwestern special and how it fits it with what I want to do (aka the scholarship form definitely served its purpose).

Yeah that's how I interpreted it as well. Your need access & fafsa will make clear to them that your bank account is empty. This is the place to showcase just what a special snowflake you are and thus deserving of a nice big scholly.

Hey all! Congrats on being accepted! I'm renting my apartment in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago-- about a 25 minute commute from the law school. So sad to be leaving this apartment behind, but it's so perfect for a law student. Here's the listing:

Did you guys get a confirmation email after submitting all your financial aid info?
I got one last year hours after I submitted, but nothing so far this year.

I emailed them the next day asking if I was supposed to receive one and they said they don't issue confirmation emails.
