I also recommend checking out the Reside properties. They only lease out in-house, but there are a few students who lived in them last year and they have properties all over the city, but mostly in Lakeview.

Does anyone know about the dress code for class? During the admitted student weekend, it seemed like most people were dressed in business casual. But during the winter/fall are hoodies acceptable or is it always business casual? Coming out of undergrad, I don't know if I need to get some more business attire.

There's no dress code. Just wear whatever you find comfortable. Some people wear sweatpants every day and others skew more towards business casual.

Wear absolutely whatever you are comfortable with. Running tights, jeans, yoga pants, basketball shorts, sweats, a dress, shorts. Anything you would wear to Starbucks or the grocery store or to sit around the house watching TV with friends is completely acceptable. There are often a few people in suits, but pretty much always for a reason (they're heading to/from an externship or an interview or court, have a presentation in class, etc.), not because they're wearing a suit for normal class. If someone is in biz-casual, they may just regularly dress that way or they may have an outside reason.
For finals, I've seen people wear fleece onesie PJs. Zero fucks are given.

There was always "that kid" in UG who showed up the first day/exam day in a suit and tie. Don't be that kid

The most recent email says that they're sending us some more swag. Althought I'm certain it will be like a coffee mug or something, part of me is hoping that spike in tuition is to cover the snow boots and down coat that they send to admitted students. This winter is going to suck...

Just a reminder to everyone that the AHR form is due tomorrow! Also, this might be a stupid question, but anyone know where to find out student ID number? It asks for it on the form.

Edit: JK I found it. Its on CAESAR under personal profile if anyone is looking :)

I'm in the airport headed to Chicago now, was wondering if any one is already there and interested in meeting up for a drink either tonight or tomorrow.

I got "accepted" to the NU Prep program but now might have a conflict, in addition to some consensus being time is better spent resting and relaxing. The opening line of the email from last (I think) Friday started with "CONGRATULATIONS!!!" in all caps and with more than one exclamation point....just seeing if anyone else got this and thought it kind of odd, I mean are spots actually competitive and people are being denied? I would be surprised if anyone didn't get 'accepted' who wanted to do it. I guess I ask because if it really is some big achievement to get into this that I'll try and make sure my scheduling conflict can be resolved...

Anyone try installing MS Office yet (http://www.it.northwestern.edu/software ... ce365.html)? Doesn't seem to work -- I imagine we won't be able to install it until classes start. But perhaps I'm missing something.

Sounds like we have to wait a bit. Thanks for reminding us that we get this

Been in town for a little while, living in streeterville, and it's been a good experience so far. If anyone else who has arrived wants to chill and grab coffee, let me know. So excited for the fall!

Moved to the Streeterville area in June. I'd be up for meeting up for drinks or coffee when people get to the city.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
