So according to LSN at least two Dillards have withdrawn in the last day and at least 7 Dillards have withdrawn throughout the cycle. Could this potentially free up money for negotiating after the deposit deadline?

Potentially, but they already account for the fact that not everyone who receives a scholarship will matriculate.

Has anyone looked in threads of past years to see whether UVA has historically turned down applicants attempting to negotiate?

Anyone have any advice on affordable one-bedroom housing within walking distance to the law school?

I checked out The Pavilion and not only were they asking $1350 a month, but they were sold out.

I'm going to check out Ivy Garden Apartments and Arlington Court Apartments too: are they better priced?

Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Ivy will be cheaper and unlikely to be at max capacity so if your budget conciois I'd check it out for sure. A lot of people live there (less than before pavilion was made, but still)

Is it safe to assume that the internet review horror stories are exaggerated? Some quick googling results in complaints about thin walls, mold, and bad management. Although, I guess all apartment complexes are reviewed pretty poorly.

I've heard all those complaints made about Pavilion too, FYI, especially the thin walls.

Is there any risk of losing a scholarship if you double deposit? Their website said it is discouraged prior to May 17th, but if I withdraw my other applications before then will I be ok?

Edit: Decided not to double deposit. Looks like I'll be joining you guys in Charlottesville this fall!

Has anyone reached out to admissions since the deadline to see if scholarship money may have freed up?

Moving to Charlottesville in less than three months

Is it just me or are scholarships in general significantly down this year across the board?

I'm tempted to withdraw and try again next year...
