Adaptibar isn't for everyone. And their answer explanations could definitely use a ton of improvement.

But between Emanuel S&T and Adaptibar, my MBE score hovered around 85-90% the month before the Feb '18 California bar exam (which I passed). Based on my score advisory, I got confirmation that my MBE scaled score was 150+ on the Feb bar exam.

At a certain point, it's not about the materials you use but how well you use them.

For me, along with the clear analysis on which answers were right/wrong, the two most helpful things about Adaptibar are (1) ease of use. They have a phone app, and the default is kind of like flashcards in that it reviews the answer after each question if you dont set up a set. I liked this in that it really beat the why into my mind by seeing what I did right/wrong when my thought process on answering was fresh in my mind. (2) it showed me my time and how I was stacking up against other users after each question, which let me know if I was on track with other testers on the question, and made me cognizant of the speed I needed to keep while pracricing. Eventually, I could just sense when I was taking more time then my optimal answer time-period. The time analytics themselves told me that after 1 min and 8ish seconds, I was probably goiing to strike out... which was a really helpful motivator in helping me know when I should just move on because of diminishing returns.

It was well worth it for me but I was less concerned about the cost. I was able to roll through questions anywhere on my phone. This would start when I woke up, while stuck at a traffic light, walking around at work, laying in bed at night, while my wife was talking, etc. Just push through as many questions as you can but you need to review the explanation to be sure you know that material.

Pros: it has all the released NCBE questions + some simulated ones (total og 1950+); it's faster to use than a paper book; it tracks your timing and score improvements over time;

Cons: most of the explanations suck; if you ask them wtf an explanation means they will repeat their conclusory statements à là [(B) is right because ... (B) is right and (A) is wrong]

I keep buying it and it consistently improved my score compared to the previous time, so it means it's working. Just integrate the explanations with your outlines if you don't get them.

Yup, Adaptibar isn't for everyone. I used it and I passed the exam, but I think using other resources (Emanuel S&T) was important as well. At a certain poitn, it's less about *what* material you use and *how* you maximize the materials you have.

Would you all suggest skipping the Adaptibar explanations? Especially if we have our own bar prep questions and using S&T?

I'm not interested in reading bad explanations and confusing my rule statements. I do want to drill real bar questions and find out where I fall on the different MBE subtopics.

Some of them are useful, so I wouldn't skip them entirely. Just integrate with your outlines if the explanation you are looking at is just a conclusory statement or plainly unhelpful. S&T explanations are really good imo.

I definitely would recommend these flashcards, they help you hammer down the black letter law which is exactly what you need when studying.
Would you suggest to memorize Critical Pass Flashcards word for word? How much time each day should I devote to memorize these cards?

I have been averaging 70 plus on adaptibar this month, but my score has now drop to around 60 these few days, is that normal? I felt the questions were harder than previous ones.

It's normal, some days you just get a bunch on subjects/topics that you don't really know well. Just focus on the overall average after you answered to a few hundred questions. Some days I get 90% on my questions, some days 60%.
