That's awesome. How did you pull off getting into a top 50 with 144?

Your guess is as good as mine (joking, but seriously). I had great grades in undergrad at a pretty good liberal arts school in TN. However, I'm a terrible test-taker. Luckily, the LSAT has, in my experience, very little bearing on how well you'll do in law school, and even less to do with being an attorney. As many others have said, these tests are merely hazing rituals, and if you put for the effort to succeed, you will be successful.

Me. Mine was horrible. I barely tried. Passed the bar. Just focus on the bar. Study to your eyeballs hurt and you'll pass.

I took the LSAT 3 times. First two scores were around 140. The third score was only a 149. Passed both Florida and Texas Bar Exams on my first attempt. Passed Florida with a 146 in 2013, and just passed Texas with a 731. A low LSAT score isn’t necessarily indicative of a persons ability to pass the bar exam or practice law.

Define low. I took it twice while working a fulltime job and still nursing my son. I earned a 144 and 146. I received 12 rejection letters from schools and 3 acceptances. I worked my ass off for 3 years and spent time as a peer tutor. I studied for the bar while watching my 5 and 3 year old. I took the bar that July (2015) in PA & NJ and passed both the first time. I used Themis and thrived on people telling me I couldn't do it. I've been a practicing lawyer since October 2015. Its the effort, not the number.

I’m a foreign JD so I never took the LSAT and passed the California Bar.

If I did it, anyone can.

Passed NY J18 UBE on first attempt.

LSAT score 142/144. Bottom half at a T-3/T-4 school - I had one very poor grade and a couple other mediocre grades 1L year.

I was terrified that because I was not a great test taker and had average grades my 1L year that I was destined to fail the bar exam. Like everyone here is echoing, the bar exam is a test of legal analysis and once you put the work in that is required, you should be able to pass.

The difference between the bar and the LSAT is that the bar is only 25%-50% logical reasoning whereas the LSAT is 100%

If you suck at reasoning but can memorize the law and issue spot, you can pass the bar (but may have trouble on the MBE).
