Michigan February 2018

Post by mhill12 » Fri Dec 15, 2017 5:22 pm

Starting this thread for those taking the Michigan Bar Exam in February. Started working in a financial compliance capacity right after law school graduation a few years ago, first time taking the Bar. Finally worked up the motivation to take it. Located in Chicago.

Anyone else on board? I'm using Themis and working full time. Should be fun!

I'm not taking it, but if you or someone else wants this book I'm happy to ship it to you. https://www.amazon.com/Michigan-Bar-Exa ... 0735509956 (details about the book here http://www.aspenlawschool.com/books/gla ... efault.asp)

Question on the Bar App - do you just call up a random police station to get these finger prints done? Seems like that's what the instructions say to do.

Though I completed the process in 2015, I remember having to go to a specific location because the location had to meet certain criteria and use a specific service (something that goes along with FBI background information) there was a website/link to check for a local spot that would meet the criteria. That being said, and to answer your question: no, you cant just go to your local police station unless the rules have changed.

Thanks, I ended up figuring it out after calling the C&F office a few times. I will say though, they are very unwilling to help you out with anything. Very condescending and rude.

I had the same interaction with them. Very unhelpful and incredibly rude. They act like we need to automatically understand everything with out any questions.
