Now that I’ve passed the bar, I’m working on my moral character application and I have a question.
Do they contact people outside of those you name as specific references? I’m asking because my former supervisor is a great reference, so of course I want to list him, but the managing partner is not a great reference. Would the bar contact that person even though he’s not listed as a reference just because he’s the managing partner?
Thanks for any input!

Highly, highly unlikely unless they have to conduct an investigation.

Re: California C&F Application
I only heard of people I specifically listed as being contacted. They get a form in the mail regarding you and fill it out and send it back.
