MBE 100Q Refresher + Videos
All you Barbri kids, how did you feel about the 100Q that was assigned yesterday? I have not done it yet, just wondering scores / if you thought the videos were helpful / if you saw any difference between your score here and your 200Q simulated exam a few weeks ago... I have Emanuel's MBE book (6th edition), wondering if it is better to just do those questions or if I should continue doing Barbri's (fake) questions...
I'm taking Nevada, if that helps anyone.

I'm doing Emanuel's instead. The barbri questions seem unnecessarily difficult.

The barbri refresher is meant to be difficult and remind you of the trickiest questions, I remember getting like a 57/100 on that and I did well on the mbe so don't worry. I would do the full day exam at the end, it's an additional 200Q but the difficulty level is more on par with what you'll see on exam day.

What full day exam at the end? I don't see anymore questions after the refresher.cnk1220 wrote:onlyunholy wrote:All you Barbri kids, how did you feel about the 100Q that was assigned yesterday? And it makes me feel better that you got a 57 and still passed. I got a 124 / 200 on simulation, but a 56 / 100 on the refresher. Definitely a confidence killer.

I think the poster above was referencing the 200Q PT in the Emmanuel's book, which is comprised of actual past MBE questions.Southpaw89 wrote:What full day exam at the end? Nope not emmanual- it's in barbri's MPQ book all the way at the end- as long as the july books haven't changed from February- it's not assigned by barbri but it's an extra 200 mbe Qsruninthefront wrote:I think the poster above was referencing the 200Q PT in the Emmanuel's book, which is comprised of actual past MBE questions.Southpaw89 wrote:What full day exam at the end? Barbri has a pdf of a "full day exam" and "half day exam" that you can print and take. I believe it's in the "enrolled students" tab on one of the pulldown things.runinthefront wrote:I think the poster above was referencing the 200Q PT in the Emmanuel's book, which is comprised of actual past MBE questions.Southpaw89 wrote:What full day exam at the end? ETA: I guess barbri removed it from the hardcopy MPQ book for the july set and just put it online instead.

Yup that's it the half day/full day exam! I forgot what it was called. Weird that they removed it from their books but it was a good resource for anyone who wants more MBE practice!

As long as the real MBE isn't like the refresher, it'll all be good.

Yikes. To all above posters, are the Barbri refresher videos helpful? Not sure I just need an ego killer at this point. Perhaps it is best to take the Emanuel's test instead..?

I scored a 70 but I thought it was ridiculously tough. Starting to feel like I know the difficult rules but don't know the basics because I have only done Barbri

I would say do the refresher and review the questions yourself from the answers in the book. I couldn't get through 10 minutes of the refresher videos. They were not only useless, but also painful.onlyunholy wrote:Yikes. To all above posters, are the Barbri refresher videos helpful? Not sure I just need an ego killer at this point. I appreciate everyone's reply. Seems that the consensus is that it was perhaps unnecessarily tough but still helpful..

Other than Emanuel's, what are the other options for additional "real" MBE questions? Are the past exams ($50) on the NCBE a worthwhile purchase? Barbri has been fine but hoping to get a feel of the real exam questions heading into the last week..

I believe BarMax and Adaptibar also use real questions but I think it may be a little late to start using those (and expensive).JC1229 wrote:Other than Emanuel's, what are the other options for additional "real" MBE questions? I have this precise fear as well. If it makes you feel better, I've done a few Emanuel questions and the NCBE OPE-4 and they're not totally out of left field.

I know 7sage offers all the released ones for $99 but only have explanations for 400 of them so far. *shrug*JC1229 wrote:Other than Emanuel's, what are the other options for additional "real" MBE questions? I got all four of them. Did all 400 questions. Worthwhile investment IMO, although you can buy that Goat book for just over $100 and get all 400 questions that way as well.
FWIW, I've been getting approximately 60% of the BarBri practice MBE questions right, but I got 284/400 of the NCBEX questions correct.

For point of reference for people: This summer, I got a 144/200 (72%) on the BARBRI 200-Q Midterm. Got a 162/200 on Emmanuel's 200-Q practice test (81%).
In 2015, I similarly got a 125/200 (62.5%) on BARBRI 200-Q Midterm and then a 144 on Emanuel's 200-Q practice test (72%). So, look for about a 9-10% bump on BARBRI's midterm to Emanuel's practice exam.

I was fortunate enough to pass in IL in 2015, where they do not provide your scores if you pass, so I do not know. My s/o however got a 160/200 on the Emanuel's less than two weeks before the bar and then got a 170 scaled on the actual MBE. My s/o indicated she did "substantial" learning between the emanuel's test and test day.itsme123 wrote:Did you perform close to you Emanuel practice exam score on the actual exam?DportIA wrote:For point of reference for people: This summer, I got a 144/200 (72%) on the BARBRI 200-Q Midterm. Re: MBE 100Q Refresher + Videos
sooooooo not to be the bearer of possibly bad news, i found the emanuals AM test actually way harder than the refresher. i did the refresher late last night when i was exhausted and just finished the AM test today and got basically the same score.
i have a tendency to just sort of logic out the best answers on barbri and a lot of the time i don't exactly know why i got individual ones right (tho i go back and read the answers ofc). so if you are like that, you might not be able to expect your scores to just magically jump up once you start doing real problems because the problems are honestly "feel" quite different
