Handwriting the Bar exam

Post by FluidMosaic » Mon Jun 26, 2017 11:05 am

So I've done it, I missed the deadline for downloading softtest.

How should I proceed after this? I've been typing practice essays, not all that used to writing.

1. See if there is any late sign up (there might be for an exorbitant fee).

And

2. Start doing some of your essays by hand so you can get used to it (and quite honestly, build up the hand/wrist stamina -- sad, right?)

Notwithstanding the fact that handwriting absolutely sucks (Ts&Ps), you will be fine. Honestly, you will be able (read: forced) to be more concise in your essays and will have to get straight to the point. I also think practicing essays by hand does a better job reinforcing the material -- as your mind can drift while typing quickly.

Is there a requirement for a specific type/category of pen and or pencil?

It seems unlikely, but if so, I would recommend getting used to whatever it is you will need for game day.
