Just print the oath and get sworn in.lovesthelaw wrote:I paid all the dues and got the email saying I am now an attorney in good standing. Do I have to wait to get my license in the mail before getting sworn in though? Or do I just print the oath? Thanks for the help!
And then just hang onto the oath? I don't have to do anything with it?BVest wrote:Just print the oath and get sworn in.lovesthelaw wrote:I paid all the dues and got the email saying I am now an attorney in good standing. Once you get your license, you're supposed to attach it to the back of your license (the presumption being that you actually frame your license and don't keep it in its cardboard tube, as many people do).lovesthelaw wrote:And then just hang onto the oath? Once you pay your bar dues, you are officially a licensed attorney with your bar card number, which can be found on the SBOT website. Once you swear in, you can practice in court.RCSOB657 wrote:Wow, that's pretty cool. You don't have to wait for like a certain date after notification of pass (as long as No asterisk)?
congratulations and its amazing that no matter how many curve balls life throws you, when you are determined anything is possible. Keep Faith and things have a way of working itself out.jc2dad wrote:Thrilled that I passed. I got a 141 MBE and a 730 overall, so my day 1 and 3 must have pulled me up a bit. I will tell you I did not feel good about my chances at all. I was diagnosed with stage iv melanoma cancer 10 days before the bar and did not put in a lick of study those 10 days running back and forth to doctors, researching, etc. I put my Faith in God, spent time in prayer, and the three days of the exam, instead of wondering how much time I had left on this earth and how my 4 small children were going to cope, I was laser focused like never before. I have no doubt that it was anything less than divine intervention on my behalf.

Wow, that number for SMU is pretty surprising--down about 6% compared to July 2016 results.TheJanitor6203 wrote:For those interested, statistics have been posted. https://ble.texas.gov/2017July
I recall it being not too long from now.Puffman1234 wrote:I've just passed, so it doesn't matter much to me , but a friend who's taking the February bar asked me--anyone have any idea when the BLE will post the sample essay answers for the July 2017 exam?
