The MAX we can get on the essays (MPT and MEE) is 200 points. The Max we can get on the MBE is a 200 points. So, the real "minimum" we'd need on the MBE is a 66, but that assumes we got a perfect score on the essays.

Gotcha, thank you. So there is no threshold minimum that we HAVE to achieve in order to pass, besides the overall 266

Does anyone know when/where we will receive our admission tickets for the exam?

I am taking the DC bar this July also. I failed VA twice but scored above 133 on the MBE both times, so I'm transferring my MBE score to DC in hopes that focusing only on the essays will help me get a passing score. Does anyone have any advice on which study materials to use for the MEEs and MPTs? I used Kaplan the first time and self studied with Adaptibar the second time. Totally clueless on what to use this time around since I'm not familiar with the UBE.
You likely already know this, but MPT is more important in DC than in other UBE jurisdictions.

In other UBE states like NY, the score breakdown is MBE (50%), MEE (30%), and MPT (20%).

But in DC, it is MBC (50%), MEE (25%), and MPT (25%).

Good luck :)

No, I had no idea about the MPT score in DC. Thought the breakdown was the same in all the UBE states. This gives me hope!

Thanks for sharing :)
This is obviously late since the exam is in 10 days but that breakdown is incorrect. I am not sure where you got the breakdown information from but it's stated in Chart 9 in the NCBE Guide 2017, page 30, that the breakdown in DC is 50-30-20: http://www.ncbex.org/pubs/bar-admission ... .html#p=42

Admission tickets and instructions just went out via email.

Edit: holy crap, it says there are over 1,000 examinees. That's nuts. Highly recommend bringing a lunch if possible and keeping it in the "unsecured bag area" because there is not the ability to feed 1,000+ people in the convention center and immediate area.

Some DC schools have lunch set up for their alumni so I'm guessing it won't be that crazy.

Any issues for folks? Seems to have gone smoothly for most, though I was in one of the smaller rooms.

Yep, other than a few logistical problems (not enough sign-in sheets for everyone in our room) and the weird Exam4 confirmation code glitch on the morning of the first day, everything went smoothly. I think DC was better equipped to deal with the higher volume of applicants this year. Though I'm not expecting results before November

Anyone have a good sense of when results will come out? I see the full pass list was posted November 1 last year for the July exam, but I don't know if individual letters are mailed before that or not.

Individual letters are not sent out until *roughly* a couple weeks after the pass list is posted. The posting of the pass list on the committee's website will be the first notice you will receive. Good luck.

For what it's worth, I just spoke with DC Bar Admissions over the phone, and the woman I spoke with said: (1) They anticipate scores to be released earlier than last year. She said "we are working to complete grading and hope to have results out before the end of October. (2) Personally, I still have a "pending report" status for my Character & Fitness, she mentioned that they still have "boxes" from NCBE that they are working through and to "give them a little more time to update everything into the system."

Hope this helps!

I am not in the same boat as (most) everyone in this thread, but still curious. When will the swearing-in ceremony be this year for July takers? If you get results late October/early November will there be a mass swear-in date?

I'm waiting on admission admission via motion, but my NCBE C&F has been received and is now pending certification. Based on another user's experience I can expect a response perhaps within a month or so - which times my admission closely to the July test takers results. I'd think there is a decent chance I'd be sworn in with the takers - thus my curiosity with the takers swearing-in date.

I'm on "4. Certification Review."

Also, below that, my "Character & Fitness Summary Report" tab still has an hourglass icon in it.

I'm still on #3 and my last name starts with a D. Hopefully this is not a bad sign. :|

Called to confirm. 3 means they are not finished with your character and fitness, nothing more nothing less. 4 means they have your character and fitness recommendation and are waiting to see if you get a passing score on the exam.

When I log in to my application, under the 'Instructions' tab, it now shows the February 2018 exam dates for the filing deadline and examination dates (even though my application was for the July 2017 exam).

Is it showing up that way for everyone else?
