There is only app No and file No on that list, no name. You mean your app No is not on that list.
Yes, that's right. My app number was not on the list. But it shows I have passed by typing my file and app number. And my admission status also changed to "Requirement satisfied Passed July 2017 California Bar Examination Oath must be taken within 5 years of last day of exam"
Is your on motion date 11/14.2017? If so, I would not worry at all.
I would know that since I have not passed the C&F review yets
Got you. Do you have that list? They say 2XXX people have passed, check that list to see if it has that exact No. If not that means someone is missing from the list. Honestly, don't worry. YOU PASSED!
You mean 2000? The list have 26 app numbers on each page and have 165 pages!
Stare bar released the exact passing No. this morning, you should be able to see if the No on the list matching the No released by the state bar. If not, someone like you might be missing from that list.

So for some of us lucky ones, the running theory is the temporary fix PDF with only application/file numbers was buggy. IF you look across all 165 pages, there are no consecutive numbers across ANY page breaks. Statistically speaking, this is unlikely accounting for just actual failures versus bugs.

That being said, if you look at the hastily posted blurb at the top of each page, it's entirely likely that it pushed down the last row/rows of this temporary "pass list" and pushed it entirely off the page. If your status shows PASSED when you properly entered in your information but weren't on the temporary fix pass list, WAS YOUR NUMBER SUPPOSED TO APPEAR NEAR OR AT A PAGE BREAK?

I am so worried it shows I passed both on the result page and on the admission status. But not on the list! Is there anyway I can make sure I passed?

The CA Bar website says 49% pass rate.
That’s like 4000 people.
Pretty normal.

FYI:

https://www.law.com/therecorder/sites/t ... 1017224817

"Leah Wilson, executive director of the state bar, said she was pleased by the results. 'We look forward to studying the factors that may have resulted in the increase,' Wilson said in a prepared statement."

"Pass rates have risen across the country this year, with the average score on the Multistate Bar Examination increasing by about 1.4 points over last July to 141.7, according to the National Conference of Bar Examiners. The average national score would not be high enough, however, to pass California’s bar exam, which requires a 144—the second-highest in the nation behind Delaware.

The pass rates in large states still far outpace California’s. Nearly 70 percent of those who sat for New York’s summer exam passed. The pass rate in Pennsylvania climbed to 73.6 percent this year after hitting a record low in 2016.

Those disparities—and the fact that a majority of test-takers still failed California’s exam—are likely to keep the debate over the Golden State’s high score simmering. Despite pleas from law school deans, students and some lawyers, the California Supreme Court in October declined to lower the score."

I guess the bar now has its excuse not to lower the cut score. But unlike some of our friends who've posted on this forum, I'm still all for lowering the cut score to more closely approximate the national mean, and if they send me a survey, I'll indicate so (like I did in the last survey).

Kudos to all who passed and good luck to those who didn't, regardless of what you decide to do after tonight.

You mean on the passing list??? Go check your application status to see if the requirement is satisfied or not. (They updated around 7pm). I think that is the final say.

The results feel so sketchy, I don’t even want to tell anyone until the official pass list is out.

Am I the only one that is waiting for results to come in the mail? Looking now without knowing the scores if you failed is just nuts! I mean they will arrive in the mail on Monday, its only a couple of days more!

for people who passed, do they send us our MBE score/total score in the mail?

this is my only time taking cali ... i know some states give overall score info only to those who fail and some give it to everyone.

No, if you failed you won't receive anything until a month later with your score and answer. Only people who passed will receive mails in a couple of days.

No score what so ever for people who passed, at least that is the normal practice before 50% change.

I don't think Leah Wilson is being forthright with this information about an increased pass rate. As can be viewed from the summmary of results PDF, the total number of examiners put into the pass rate equation changed drastically as of this year.

(http://www.calbar.ca.gov/Portals/0/docu ... 201707.pdf)

In the July 2017 administration of this exam, only those "completing the examination" were included, compared to the July 2016 administration, which included all applicants.

Thus, instead of the 8,545 number used to derive the July 2017 pass rate, the total applicant number, 9,837 applicants should have been used (which is applicants minus those who were found ineligible or who dropped).

Comparing apples to apples:
July 2017: 9,837 applicants, 4,236 passed = 43.06% pass rate
July 2016: 7,737 applicants, 3332 passed = 43.07% pass rate

So, there effectively is NO evidence of an increase in pass rate. Instead, there is actually a very slight decrease.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
