July 2015 MBE Scores/Results

Post by robinhoodOO » Wed Sep 02, 2015 4:09 pm

As scores and results begin to trickle in, I think we're all interested in hearing MBE scores from other takers who get results earlier than others and what their initial impression of the MBE portion was prior to getting their score.

So if you're one of the luckier takers that get results sooner, post your score when you get it, as well as how well you thought you did prior to receiving your score. Thanks! :)

Any other PERMISSIBLE MBE discussion welcome

Thanks for starting this thread.

I can't decide if I'm interested in seeing this data, or not interested in it in case it's bad and that will only make my still 2(ish) month wait even worse.

Whoever it was that said the bar exam is basically just a hazing process was 100% correct.

Checking in. I think my score is in the mail as of today. Should find out by Friday hopefully (my state still uses snail mail for everything)

I remember from taking this test before that one of the jurisdictions that posts MBE scores about now, also has and posts the national average test score for the MBE as well. I'd be interested in finding out what that is!

I, too, am a masochist who wants this information.

It's like a trifecta of hazing: Before, during, and after the exam.

I'm eager to see opinions and scores even if it makes the wait worse. And, seeing that this thread has nearly 1K views already tells me others are curious/eager as well. Bring 'em on!

Yeah, this is what I want to know as well, even though it will only lead to useless, neurotic analysis

Got a package notice in my mailbox today. I started freaking out because I figured fail notices have your test and too big to fit in the mailbox. I was especially worried since I didn't order anything. Almost had a fucking heart attack. Turns out my wife ordered something off amazon :|

This needs to be done now.

I got my WV results back today and passed with a 152 MBE. The scaled score is all we received.

If it helps, I thought the MBE was really hard. Harder than Kaplan's final. I thought I would score between 145-150 scaled on the real thing at BEST - that was my instinct. So, I was pleasantly surprised.

I averaged around 70% on multiple choice questions at the end. I scored 118 on Kaplan's midterm MBE and 134 on Kaplan's final MBE.

There's some intel for you, enjoy your neurotic analysis for the next several days/months!

Oh boy - I scored a 98 on Barbri's midterm but was scoring around 70% towards the end. We have one more week to wait for results for Iowa and then we'll see what happens....

I got my WI bar results back. (Darned you WV, I thought I'd be first!)

I got a 153 scaled on the MBE. I was scoring ~138 on the last two Barbri practice tests (the final one and the supplementary one). I self-studied in an idiosyncratic manner, but I took all the Barbri printed tests.

Just to keep track of it, we currently have results from NC, FL, WV, and WI, right?

See! This is the shit I'm talking about!

I took Kaplan too and was averaging roughly the same and still felt like shit on test day.

Now, time to start that spreadsheet, compile all data and information, and analyze where I may have fallen on the scale.

Y'all make me feel like maybe I did better than I think I did. Oh I so hope that's true.

Would love to hear more feedback about people's scores. Don't be shy and post them please!

As people start to report, I'm going to try and keep an updated list/breakdown. If a TLSer doesn't want me to post their name in the list (or I have information listed incorrectly), PM and I will replace it with anonymous :) So, here goes:

Random Numbers: Took Barbri; Scaled MBE Score: 153; Was scoring 138’s raw w/Barbri; State: WI
WVU Mountaineer: Took Kaplan; Scaled MBE Score: 152; Thought MBE was hard as shit; State WV
Topper: Course unknown; Scaled MBE Score: 138; State: WI

I'm not too savvy with bar scoring, but the letter I got from WI said the MBE was scaled to a 138. Not sure if WI scales the MBE any differently from other states, but the more you know...

Could you tell us what you were scoring with your program? What you thought of the mbe?

Got my results today. passed. 167 on essays and 151 on MBE. FWIW, I guessed between two answers on well over half the MBE questions (I stopped counting after I flagged 60 on each section), so hopefully that's a good sign. Average was 138 on each section

I took Wisconsin, and the pass rate is 65%, which is down 5-10% from last year I think

ETA: If it helps, Wisconsin is 50% MBE with 8 essays. The MPT is weighted twice as much as the other essays.

Thanks!

Also forgot to mention towards the end of my prep course I was about 70th percentile (around 60th for the mid-term). They must have thrown a lot of questions out on the MBE. I'm really shocked
