Anybody have any pointers? I guess my jurisdiction is part written and part multiple choice, so I think I will mainly work on the written part. They don't let you bring in any notes.

You don't have time to study all the subjects you need to study. I'd recommend looking at the list of topics that will be on the MBE (the mult choice) and the list of topics that will be on your essay portion (see the state bar examiners site), then starting with whatever subjects appear on both lists. Don't bother trying to learn your state's differences from the majority views tested on the MBE.

After that, study the other MBE subjects.

For the essays where you don't know anything about the subject, you'll just have to identify some issue that you think might be important, make up a rule that sounds fair, and then apply your rule to the facts.

Considering some states have 90%+ pass rates, I could see it being legit...It'd be funny if CA, though

I think two weeks is pretty doable if you're in an easier state with 50% MBE and no minimum score on the essays. Just do 100-150 questions a day, review the stuff that consistently fucks you up from a good outline, then apply common-law and make up reasonable rules for anything you don't know on the essays. I wouldn't have been confident enough to try on my own, but in retrospect I think I'd that's doable if you do well on standardized tests. MBE questions are more arbitrary than the LSAT by far, but you don't need to do nearly as well to be happy with your performance.

Probably a troll, but having (almost) finished Barbri I definitely think 2-3 weeks of self-study for an intelligent person can reasonably assure passage for an average state. Get some 1L outlines (free). Do 50 MBE questions a day (Emanuel's book, $43.86 on Amazon). Read old essay prompts and model answers online (free), all of which can be BSed to some extent. Barbri is a grossly overpriced scam and makes its killing preying on law students' insecurities.

Like I said, it depends on the State. Many states are 90%+ pass rate and you can do fuck all and probably pass...But if you had no idea that other states might be significantly different (i.e. CA), I'm suspect of the authenticity of this post...haha
