There are three multiple choice "segments" and each of the three essays is a "segment," according to Board.

Re: Florida Bar Exam - Official Thread
Kaplan tells us that the percentages for MC subjects has been roughly - Procedure - 100%, Evidence - 90%, BE - 50%, and Wills - 50%. I think Wills is being chosen because its historically a 50/50 shot. There is no way to predict the MC, but evidence was lacking from February so it is likely to be on July. Not having Evidence would be a curveball. Then, between BE and Wills is just a random guess. Could be either.941law wrote:I gotta ask, why Wills?ash0117 wrote:I doubt that they will change the test that much. They always test crim pro/ civ pro/ judicial ad all together in one section. Also, as previously stated, BE has been tested 5/6 last administrations. Statistically wills is due but who knows.LAW813FL wrote:Kaplan tells us that the percentages for MC subjects has been roughly - Procedure - 100%, Evidence - 90%, BE - 50%, and Wills - 50%. As others have said, it's been a while since Wills has been tested... BE has been tested on the last few examinations, Wills is just due. Honestly, it's a guess, and I am studying for both. That's just my prediction. I'm banking on Evidence being tested since it wasn't tested in February and it is nearly always tested. Again, just a guess, but I think that one's a pretty solid one.941law wrote:I gotta ask, why Wills?ash0117 wrote:I doubt that they will change the test that much. I'm with you guys. I just think they stick to the trend of a trusts essay and no wills. They stick to the July trend of evidence and BE. There has been a trend in February too, which is an alternation trend, and that would put next Feb with wills and evidence.

You're getting too into these trends man. It's random to the extent that they want it to be unpredictable. Statistics tell us it will be wills, evidence, and procedure. But they don't give a damn about statistics.941law wrote:I'm with you guys. I just think they stick to the trend of a trusts essay and no wills. They stick to the July trend of evidence and BE. I want wills. I'm prepared for wills, just putting my money down on trends, over statistics, since we're guessing for fun.Cydiego wrote:

How far in advance are these exams made? For example, was our exam written after or before February's record low pass rate?

In juvenile delinquency -- Can someone help to clarify the difference between an involuntary mandatory waiver and a mandatory direct file? I don't see how in certain instances you would bypass the mandatory direct file, but then have to request a mandatory waiver... why didn't you have to direct file?
I don't know why I am harping on this -- probably insignificant, but thanks for the help

well one difference is the age of the child. 14 and up applies to involuntary mandatory waiver and 16/17 for direct file. So it wouldn't be an automatic direct file if the kid was 15.FloRida15 wrote:In juvenile delinquency -- Can someone help to clarify the difference between an involuntary mandatory waiver and a mandatory direct file? Florida Multiple Choice. Am I right that each MC question is roughly worth 3 essay points?
For Barbrians, to what extent are ya'll going beyond the lecture handouts for Corps, Wills, Partnerships, Civ Pro, and Crim Pro? I get the feeling that knowing cold only the handouts may not be enough to grab at least 22 points out of a possible 30 for each subject area. And that assumes you know the handouts COLD. Thoughts?
EDIT: Forgot to add that the Florida FLT book MC clearly includes answers and explanations not covered by the handouts. How safe are we sticking only to the handouts? What are peoples approach here?

I am drilling the FLT MC answers and explanations. Looking at the FL Bar study guide and talking to FL admitted attorneys I think that drilling the MCs (as well as knowing the handouts cold) especially for Crim Pro-Civ Pro-Judicial Administration-Evidence-Wills-BEs is the best way to make sure you rack up the requisite points for MCs.EAsports wrote:Florida Multiple Choice. It'll be totally insane and weird and unpleasant in my humble opinion if they throw something else in MCs, it's just gotta be Evidence, Wills, and/or BE along with the procedure segments. Not that I won't do my best to be prepared for everything.

Have the average scores from prior essays been made available and if so are they published online?
Usually there will be a tough, medium, and relatively easy essay per administration. Just wondering if there's a breakdown of the average scores to make sure I know which ones were tougher.
For example, the FL Con Law essay from 2011 just wrecked me. I didn't do well on it but I'd feel a lot better if the average was only around 25-35 points as opposed to the usual 45.

Anyone write out an answer to the February 2015 Real Property essay? Or find a write up online anywhere? My gut is that the Board is throwing at least one major curveball essay in each exam. Wonder what's in store for us!

Hey guys, I took and passed the July 2014 exam and wanted to offer some advice.
Prepare yourself mentally. You are going to sit down in the convention center, open your packet and feel wholly unprepared, but you are. Every MC section will feel like you guessed on 90% and you may convince yourself you are a failure, don't let it get to you. You are going to think your bar prep company screwed you over because "the questions are nothing like the ones from barbri, kaplan, or themis" and "this must be the most difficult administration ever." This is fear, the bar exam is scary, expect it and prepare for the stress. You're going to drive home from the bar feeling like shit but if you put the time in, and in many cases even if you didn't, you will most likely pass.
PS - Florida MC is a joke - don't expect to feel like you know ANY of those, i didn't and passed with ease (to my surprise). You'll get your points in the essays.
Good luck!

I'm looking for an explanation to this and the second question from February. The property essay has some hidden elements, esp w regard to the installment k for property. never seen that before. would like to see an experts answer941law wrote:Yeah, I was thinking the same. Though I haven't taken the bar, my understanding is that the specificity of the questions especially in relation to the generality of what we study is what makes it so tough. Like, after cramming down loads of essay material (most of which we probably won't use), how are we supposed to recall things like the notice requirements for dissenters rights ahead of a corporate reorganization. Maybe my memory sucks, but I am definitely faltering on these little details.941law wrote:What makes FL mc so hard?hous wrote:Hey guys, I took and passed the July 2014 exam and wanted to offer some advice.
