Re: Florida Bar Exam - Official Thread
pass pass pass! SUPER THANKFUL that this exam is behind me.
First-time taker in Florida but licensed in California. I worked full-time up until 3 weeks before the exam and was definitely nervous about my results. For anyone who was unsuccessful, you can learn and beat this test (trust, I've had my share of disappointment in CA - brutal)!
Congrats, everyone!

Also passed both... don't ask me how, but I don't really care how.
Congrats to everyone else. It seems like we all ended up OK here.

Passed both parts (must have been a hefty unofficial curve to allow me to pass the FL part after those brutal essays). I am shocked that the overall passage rate actually went up compared to previous summers...mercy was shown.

I'm in this club. Also not sure how concerned I should be. I know there are a couple outstanding requests from them for updates on my information. Once I mail those back in, will I be good to go?ThisMan wrote:PASSED BOTH PARTS!! Who else is in the "passed but not yet authorized to be sworn in club"? How concerned should I be??

Next up is the MPRE for me... any of you recommend a good outline for it?

Legitimately studied for it first time the day before the exam. You'll be fine. I recommend you check out the official MPRE question sets and guides posted on the official MPRE website. It will walk you through everything.lapin wrote:Next up is the MPRE for me... any of you recommend a good outline for it?
Edit: I might be misremembering on my representations above, but I'm pretty sure the official MPRE site has good study materials available.

Re: Florida Bar Exam - Official Thread
It seems like they tweak the bar exams to adjust with the times, recall past FL essays where if you had 2 weeks you could write essays that would combine in length and equate the size of a Stephen King novel. This year it looks like the essays were tweaked to not leave that room and sort of be more refined than in years past. Then again that's just me.RB78 wrote:Passed both parts (must have been a hefty unofficial curve to allow me to pass the FL part after those brutal essays). Y'all that exam was sooo hard! Especially Essay #1, I was so defeated after that... BUT WE DID IT! We passed.

Re: Florida Bar Exam - Official Thread
I just used the Themis lecture handouts. Since a lot of the bar prep companies offer MPRE courses for free, you could just mix and match their stuff. I'd recommend studying over the course of a week if you're bad with multiple choice like me. If you're good with MC tests, it'll be a cakewalk compared to the bar.lapin wrote:Next up is the MPRE for me... any of you recommend a good outline for it?

Passed as well! Both parts over the cut line. Congrats to all who passed. Keep trying if you did not make it this round.

I passed!!! This is now my THIRD jurisdiction!
I have failed exams and I have passed exams. For those that are struggling to handle failure of the bar exam, it is possible to keep at it and pass.

How does Florida scoring work? Is it common to fail the Florida portion and still pass?

When did you send in your application to character and fitness? The FL Board of Bar Examiners typically takes 5-6 months to clear an applicant.avamango wrote:I'm in this club.
